1  TM Patches Rainbow Swap in Needlework: Completed Projects by Mellius01 on: March 20, 2018 01:17:56 PM
I made a couple of TM patches for the Rainbow Swap and thought I'd share them here.

Trust me, the stitching looks a little better than the photos. lol

LadybugsAndBumblebees received yesterday. She was unable to post pics so I'm posting what I sent.

A knitted dishcloth and coffee sleeve:

A crocheted rainbow scarf:

A couple of TM patches, ladybugs:

And a tree of life:

And a few extras:

A cut of cloth, some novelty buttons, and scissors.

This swap was so much fun to craft for and my partner was awesome!

Yay! I'm the first to receive!

I got a wonderful package from LadybugsAndBumblebees today and I'm excited to share it. There are many pictures so be prepared.

First thing, I open the box and I'm greeted by this:

Everything was wrapped so neatly and so colorfully.

I asked for a ton of different things and she tried to do them all. A dishtowel, for example, with a lovely crocheted hanger:

I love the beading on the edges.

A colorful spring scarf (this one had the beaded edges too, very pretty!):

Some awesome handmade rainbow colored stationery with a stripey book mark:

I love the texture of the paper.

And then as if all that rainbowy goodness wasn't enough... Extras!

Notecards, rainbow stickers, tangerine lip balm, and sticky notes.

Thanks for your generosity and thoughtfulness, LadybugsAndBumblebees, you make me feel like spring is finally here!

I got the most amazing swap package from Rockingbearranch today. This is something I've always wanted, my own Maltese Falcon! I really love that movie and I'm so happy and proud to be the owner of such an iconic statue from one of my favorite films.

First I opened the package to find feathers and packing material. What could it be? It contained a mysterious note and the prize the Fat Man would kill for, the Maltese Falcon:

Not an insignificant live bird, but a glorious golden falcon, encrusted from beak to claw with the finest jewels in their coffers:

It had by then acquired a coat of black enamel so that it looked like nothing more than a fairly interesting black statuette. But no thickness of enamel can conceal its value from my eyes.

Thanks so much rockingbearranch! I love the clever packaging and the note made me laugh out loud. You're good, you're awful good.

And now, without further ado, the goodies I received from Audio. I asked her for something werewolf themed and she really delivered:

And a close up:

I really love the stitching on this, and the skull moon is just the crowning touch. I hung it up but I can't keep my hands off it, it's so quility.

But that's not all, she also sent some cool Wolf Man notecards. They look so professional I thought they were store bought:

Makes me long for Halloween:

Her stitching is so neat and precise. I'm jealous.  Smiley

And just for fun some funky monster stickers:

Sorry for the quality of the pics. I've been trying to get decent shots since yesterday and neither the light nor my hands were cooperating. If you have better ones, Audio, please share.

This was a great swap and Audio is a great swap partner. I couldn't be happier.

6  Re: Vikings, Pirates, & Ninjas Swap Rd 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Mellius01 on: April 11, 2017 10:52:07 PM
I received my wonderful package from Wavelight and she did a great job on everything. The picture is a bit messy because everything is all in one.

There's a pirate tote with a quote from one of my favorite movies, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. The little colored pieces are skull shaped mini soaps (they smell so good!) All around the quote are stickers with my favorite vikings from the show Vikings and character quotes. Jack Sparrow managed to make it in there too, he's so tricky.  Smiley Then there is a little jar charm that just might fit a tiny heart and a bit of dirt one day.

Thanks for everything Wavelight, and for being such a great and understanding partner. I'm going to be toting that tote everywhere. Meanwhile my vikings will go in a journal or on the fridge.

I received a really great package from Momof2! today. Take a look:

It's a mug rug! I've always wanted one of of these, they're so decorative and so handy.

There's also a little "spooky" sign, some fear tape (like police tape but it warns of zombies!), a glittery spider, and some tasty candy.

Sorry the pic is so dark. I tried to light it better but nothing seemed to work, plus it came out a bit blurry. If you have a better pic Momof2! please post it. This is much cuter than the pic would indicate.

Thanks so much for my package, I love everything. This was a fun swap.

9  Re: Weekend Trick or Treat Swap 2016 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Mellius01 on: September 30, 2016 03:42:27 PM
I received from Audio today and WOW, she's a great swap partner and an excellent stalker. Look at all these goodies:

There's the pumpkin with all the treats from inside. There's a lovely coffin shaped pincushion with some cool skull and funerary pins, a sign with a fun saying, an adorable pumpkin head doll with a jaunty hat, a pair of Halloween socks, a creepy eye scarf, a pair of coffin shaped treat boxes, some bat and spider buttons, pencils, erasers, eyes, skulls, skeletons, creepy crawlies, earrings, and an awesome bloodstained fabric I had everything resting on. Whew, that's a lot!

A sign with a saying I had pinned on Pinterest

A close up of skeletons, a ribbon with a skeleton pattern, and the pincushion, with the pumpkin bucket looking on. I think she's impressed. Smiley That fabric with the bloodstains is so awesome too.

I tried to get a close up of the pins in the pincushion, it didn't come out well but they are so tiny. If you made those, Audio, my hat is off to you. Such fine, detailed work.

And the best of all, this cute little pumpkin doll with an eyeball hat. She's ready for her Halloween party.

Everything is just so perfect. Thanks so much, Audio, you made my whole holiday with all this wonderful loot!

10  Re: Three Tiny Movie Things Round 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Mellius01 on: May 24, 2016 06:10:39 PM
I got my package from fatewineroses today and I'm still reeling from all the goodies. She is the best swap partner and I'm so lucky to have gotten her this round.

The package was quite an emotional journey. First she brought the laughs with this from Monty Python and the Holy Grail:

Without any prompting she managed to hit one of my favorite quotes from the movie. That whole scene with the French knights never fails to make me laugh, just like I did when I saw that plaque.

Then I discovered this from Young Frankenstein:

I don't know how many times I've seen Young Frankenstein - a bunch. My favorite scenes are between Victor and Igor. I'm so blown away by this I can't even express it. I just sat and stared when I opened it. Talk about tiny stitching! And a portrait! I can't even imagine how something like this is done.

Then I opened this from Aladdin:

And the lining:

How did she know yellow is my favorite color? And once again the quote is perfect. She's either the world's best stalker or she's psychic. I swear I teared up when I saw this because of Robin Williams. The lining is a tribute to his beautiful soul.

Then there was this from Lord of the Rings:

The Eye of Sauron! Old Lord of the Rings himself! lol

You think that's the best thing about it, the evil reptilian eye? No, not at all. It also... lights up! Yes, that's right, my very own, glowing Eye of Sauron.  I couldn't get a picture of it lit up, it washed out to much. Suffice it to say it's bloody awesome!

And did I mention the candy? There was candy too, was being the operative word.  Cheesy

Fatewineroses, you're the best. Thanks so much!
