111  Re: Ongoing ATC swap - October 2013 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by kosmicgirl on: November 09, 2013 09:57:16 AM
I received two lovely cards this week:

T is for Thompson & Thompson, from blupaisan for my Comic ABC on the left
and a serene fall cat from Witchhippie.

They're great, thank!

Love the camper, and the scrabble card is lovely! Smiley

Witchhippie, if you change the cards around, they line up neatly Smiley

113  Kpop ATCs in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by kosmicgirl on: November 02, 2013 01:50:43 PM
Ok... so I guess I'll be outing myself as a Kpop fan after this post, but what the hey.  Cheesy

First out are Bang and Zelo from B.A.P. These two are based on photos from their "Warrior" era.
I want to put their names on there somehow, but I'm still unsure how and where...

Bang Yong Guk:

Both done in grey scale markers. They are a little bit softer irl, the pictures turned out somewhat harsh.

Next out is G-Dragon. I sketches this one free hand on the train, and it's a little more... comic-y (?) I suppose.
I like it though. His new album "Coup d'etat" is more or less on repeat here atm.. *^_^*

Also done with markers and some kind of glittery glam stickers. Neat-o Wink

Thanks for looking!

*When sending sent/receive notifications to the swap organizer, there are four juicy pieces of information that must be included about each ATC.  What are they?  (Scroll down in the swap info under this questionnaire to the area "Once you have sent or received a card"; the answer is in red.):

*Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join this swap!  Sign-ups are open all month--YAY!  PM me the above questionnaire to get started, and please wait to be accepted into the swap before making any claims. **Please make sure you are not late or flakey in any of your other swaps, and that you have good communication.** This is a super-uber-amazingly-stupendous swap, So Have Fun!

Claims are made throughout the month.  You have two weeks from the time you make a claim to send that claim.

You can make as many (or as few, as little as 1) claims as you want throughout the month as long as you never go over your allowed amount of outstanding claims. (An outstanding claim is a card that has not been received; when that card is received your number of outstanding claims goes down leaving you open to bring it back up to 7 or 10.)

Posting pictures of received ATCs is required for this swap.

1. Claims are made using the following procedure:

Person A (the swap organizer) will begin the swap by posting a list of themes in this swap thread.
Person B will choose a theme from one of A's themes and make a claim by posting his/her own list (see below for formatting of post).
Person C will make a claim on one of B's themes and post his/her own list.
Person D will make a claim on one of C's themes and post his/her own list etc...
This continues through the end of the month, when the swap organizer makes the final claim and closes out the claiming part of the swap.

2. How many claims can be made by each individual:

The number of claims each person is allowed depends on the following criteria:
*Friends of Craftster: 10 claims
*Those who aren't Friends of Craftster: 7 claims
*First time swappers (whether Friends of Craftster or not): 1 claim.  Once the initial claim has been sent, and its new owner has reported it received, the first time swapper is free to make more claims, either 7 or 10 dependent on being an FOC or not.

3. How to make a claim:

A claim post should include the following information:
1. The theme you are choosing and who youre sending it to.
2. Statistical info about your current swap claims status:
Claims = Claims currently outstanding (ie., how many not yet received by their new owners.) (This number goes down each time a claim is received, and up each time you make a claim.)
Sent = anything currently in the mail.
Received = the cards received by the people you've sent them to.
3. Your location.
4. Your personal preferences.
5. Your list of themes

I claim GenericFabulosaSwap per for heffalumps/weasels ATC.

3 claims, 2 sent, 1 received

I live in Massachusetts, USA.  I would prefer not to receive anything violent, political, or religious.

My themes are:
1)   Flowers w/ Faces
2)   Fun in the Sun
3)   A Visual Dipiction of an Emotion
4)   Drunken Ramblings
5)   Your Favorite Medium

1. Send a personal message to the person you have claimed and request their address.
2. You have 2 weeks to complete each card, and have it in the mail to its new owner.

1. Please PM the organizer when you send or receive a card.  (It's also good to notify the person you received from or are sending to.)
2.  Please include one of these at the title of the message: November ATC Swap--Sent or November ATC Swap--Received (Be sure to include the month, since I generally run multiple months at a time)
3.  Be sure and include (1) the "send by" date, as well as (2) the theme and (3)who sent it to (4)whom, in each message to the ATC swap organizer, when you're referring to sent or received ATCs. (That's four juicy pieces of important information that make my life as a swap organizer OH so easy!) Easy as pie!

For example, you could use this format:
I sent some ATCs today!

MeCraftsterMemberBl oop --> YowzaSwapper (fantasmic theme)

MeCraftsterMemberBl oop --> WowwieSwapsper (stupendous theme)
MeCraftsterMemberBl oop -->WooHooYeeHawSwapper 07 (yet another fascinating theme)

This lets the organizer easily access the swap info, so it can be updated.

It is OH so important to post pictures of the amazing cards you receive!  This is the best way in the world to let it be known how special it is that you've received a wonderful treasure of someone else's creativity!

Please post pictures/scans of your received cards in the swap (or make arrangements with your partner to do so).

Positive feedback will be given when all of the cards you sent have been received.   Good communication is always cool!  And be sure and post those pictures in the swap!

If you have any questions please post them in the discussion thread or PM the organizer, kosmicgirl.
This thread is specifically for claims only.

116  Second reconstructed trinket shelf - this one's for me :) in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by kosmicgirl on: October 27, 2013 06:55:55 AM

I revamped a trinket shelf for my nieces a while back https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=422483.0#axzz2ivhWQXxo,
and decided I needed a similar one for myself. The hardest part was finding the actual shelf to reconstruct, since I wanted a big one Smiley

Found the right shelf! Removed a few shelves, made a few repairs, sanded it down and was ready to go Smiley

Deciding on colour and paper was difficult for this one, but in the end I settled on green.

Finished! Everything glued in place, coated and "roughened up" a bit

A new home for our gashapons. Doesn't Chi look happy?

And finally, on the wall in all it's glory. I'm rather pleased with it Smiley

Now onto the next project - an advent calendar!

Seems like this set of cards I sent Katilady got lost somewhere on the way to her, so I'd thought I'd just post them.
(there was one more card, but in my rush to send them, I forgot to take a picture.. Sad ) I hope the replacement finds her safely!

The set is called "a touch of gold", done with markers and ink

Received two great cards from ChameleonHound today Smiley

They are for my themes "...and there's a chameleon on there!" and "appliances with facial hair"

The cards are called "fanfare for facial hair" and "content chameleon".
I love both of them! The fan is great; what a lovely way to greet Movember a few days early Smiley

I swapped with Blu for an inchie house and a few ATCs, and she really delivered!

But wait, all doors and windows open to show the acts on display inside!

Amazing detail, feeding my love for the unusual. I LUV giraffe man on the poster up back Smiley

And the ATCs:
This one goes with the house:

And one that made me giggle Smiley It took a few seconds before I even noticed the very impressing
mustache on the vacuum!

Thanks blu!

And, I was lucky to receive from Vincentvanbuck as well!
I think it's awesome that you send us all your try runs as well vince,
it's a great way to see your process and how you think. Plus, those cards might
be "failed" experiments in your eyes, but to me they are pieces of art!
(I love the scottish flag you sent  to blu! )

Ok. Back to the cards. We started talking about classic videogames,
and vincentvanbuck decided to make me my favourite characters from
one of my all time favourite games: FF6. Here are Terra and Locke:

I added the thumbnail, so you can see the figures better. It's like a Lichtenstein, if you're too close, you won't see what it is.

Terra was an experiment using watercolour pencils, and I love it!  Abstract, but I still see her in there Smiley
Both of them made with perlerbead patterns. Very cool stuff. I love 'em, vince!
