21  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / PewDiePie's Legend of the Brofist sprites on: October 15, 2017 10:17:12 PM
yes, I'm a PewDiePie fan.  and I'd been wanting to make a cross stitch of my favorite YouTubers from PDP's video game because they are just so cute!  I start with a picture I found on the internet, but then using screen shots I found from the game, I edited the sprites to be even and look more like the sprites in the game.

so here we have PewDiePie, Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, and Cryaotic (Cry).

22  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Devil's Pitchfork turned mermaid's trident on: October 15, 2017 10:12:43 PM
so I found this idea on Pinterest.  I'd been wanting to do it ever since I saw it, but I never got my hands on a pitchfork until around last Halloween

I wanted an icey mermaid's trident, so I used iridescent glitter spray paint over white primer.  the thing where the fork attaches to the handle was ugly and I wanted to hide it, so I used hemp (reminiscent of a net maybe?) to wrap around it.  I used large flake iridescent glitter, faux pearls, opalescent beads, shells I bought as well as shells and beach glass I found on the shores of Lake Erie to decorate the bottom of the fork.  some of the primer was a little thin on the tines, so I used Mod Podge and fine iridescent glitter on them to cover up the red that was showing through.  I used a mixture of large flake and fine glitter on the very bottom, and added a little round mirror to the end to cover up the hole in the handle.  and I love how it turned out.

thanks, bunny!

yeah, I've been quiet for a while and I only check in here once in awhile (clearly).  but with it being almost Halloween, I may check in a little more.  and maybe I'll get inspired to make more stuff.   Smiley

28  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Jack-O-Lantern Centerpiece on: September 07, 2017 10:15:51 PM
hey everyone.  I know I've been quiet for a while, but I have my reasons.  however, I finally made something I've been wanting to make since last year...maybe even the year before.  I honestly can't remember.  but I am just SO thrilled with how it turned out that I wanted to share it with you all.

I made this cute little guy tonight!

made from a 97 mini pumpkin pail from Walmart (he was just too cute to pass up), flowers from Michaels that I got for $3 (gotta love coupons), a Halloween glitter pick also from Michaels that I think I got for a dollar last year when the seasonal stuff went on sale (it's hard to inventory Michaels without shopping), and the most expensive thing is the foam ball I cut up to fit inside.  so it only cost about $6.50 to make.  and I just love him to bits!
