391  Re: Back to Hogwarts Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Krafty_Karasu on: September 11, 2008 08:53:12 PM

i love everything but my most favorite is the buffalo/cow/bull skull

see, that's what I meant by smushing 2 (actually 3) things you like into one.  I saw that you like Indian items and cow skulls are everywhere in their culture, you like Gryffindor, and you like Hedwig.  so you got a cow skull with Gryffindor colors and a cute little owl on it.   Tongue

that was actually a large item time wise.  it took me hours to stitch those beads together and secure it to the face.  it even took me a while to come up with the "mask" design.

duh...I just realized that the ornament is a combo too.  you like to collect ornaments and you like Gryffindor.  THAT is the item that was mostly done, but then I decided I didn't like it and I started all over again.  :p

I'm glad you like your stuff.  I was so nervous about everything.

OH!  here's a picture of the box.  I'm just so da...rn proud of it.

the little blob in the upper left corner is a little owl with a letter in its talons, the one by her address is Professor McGonagall, and the one above "Gryffindor" is Harry and his broom.

AND!  I keep remembering stuff.   Tongue  all of the bubble wrap was Gryffindor colors...red and yellow.  it's awesome when you find stuff like that to make things just a little more personalized.   Wink

love it!  I had always wanted to paint things on my walls too, but decided against it when I realized it would mean getting rid of the crap on my walls (I love all my junk!)

nice walls by the way.  they look strangely familiar...

my walls...

my carpet...

394  Any Gryffindor would be proud to wear this... in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Krafty_Karasu on: August 04, 2008 02:36:59 PM
or Slytherin, or Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw...it all just depends on the color and the symbol.    Tongue

I plan on going all out when I go to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.  so, I've decided to make some stuff.  this is one item of 2 that I have ready for the big day.   Grin

395  beaded ornaments, candle holders, and vases in Beads: Completed Projects by Krafty_Karasu on: July 25, 2008 06:00:43 PM
I started off beading miniature glass ornaments.  I still make them, but I've moved on to slightly bigger things.

this one was made for an ornament swap I took part in.  we were given a list of another person's favorites and were told to incorporate as many as we wanted into an ornament.  my partner's favorite colors were hot pink, aqua, and lime green; one of her favorite movies was "Singin' in the Rain" (hence the tiny aqua colored drops); she loved collecting foreign coins (notice the little replica Chinese coin on the bottom) and I formed the silver wire hanger and loop myself.

I made this for my mom's birthday last year.  her birthstone is topaz, so of course I put topaz Swarovski crystals on this.  it REALLY sparkles when you put a tea light candle in it.  I'm so proud of the clarity of this picture too. Tongue

I have a few other vases beaded up, I just don't have pictures yet.

396  earrings galore!!! *updated* in Beads: Completed Projects by Krafty_Karasu on: July 20, 2008 07:42:17 PM
I went crazy a few times making earrings.  here's the results!

a ton of earrings I made for my mom

a friend of mine saw the yellow earrings and wanted some purple ones (sorry it's blurry)

earrings I made shortly after getting my ears (re)pierced

some that I made after getting my ears pierced to go with necklaces I made before getting my ears (re)pierced

I just made these with the new items I got from eBay.  I love them!

397  Re: Post Photos of Your Tattoos! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Krafty_Karasu on: June 29, 2008 08:25:56 PM
my favorite kind of topic  Grin

very first tattoo, a butterfly (how clich):

second, a pentacle (I think you can guess why...):

third, a fairy, fourth, an ankh:

fifth, leopard spots (anyone who is a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series might be able to spot my homage to the game):

sixth, a Greek key armband (homage to the video game God of War and my love of Greek mythology):

seventh, a...thing (homage to the manga/anime Chobits and 2000 [00] is my graduation year from high school):

eighth, a half sleeve representing my favorite season (fall) and an homage to another video game I love called Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly.  plus, the butterflies each have a letter representing my parents and I (I've had more done on this since this picture was taken, but it's just not quite done yet):

399  Little Apple Doll Circe Costume in Halloween Costumes by Krafty_Karasu on: June 29, 2008 06:31:00 PM
I didn't make the whole costume, but I did make the sleeves, white spandex top (my face was supposed to be white too, but the make-up I bought was crap and wouldn't go on smoothly), the necklace, and I stuck nails in the apple.  Little Apple Dolls are actually children, but I wanted to look like a grown-up version but still look kinda innocent (meaning, free of tattoos.  and I have 2 big ones on my upper arms).

here's the actual doll:

here's me:

here's the apple:

I think what make-up I do have on looks like crap (my b/f forced me to have his sister put eyeliner on me.  he's now my ex for more reasons than that).  Sad

no?  well, let me show you then...

a lot of screaming and yelling went into the making of this piece.  it was my very first attempt at creating something like this.  I'm pretty happy with how she turned out.  Smiley
