1  Amigurumi Cupcake Army (Free Pattern Link) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by EssHaych on: October 09, 2015 08:59:13 AM
Wow, it's been so long since I shared something on Craftster! I used to share all the time, but kind of lost my way when I lost my crochet mojo. Thankfully it is back now though, so here I am  Tongue

I've been making lots of amigurumi and crochet bits lately, including these amigurumi cupcake pincushions...

I was lucky enough to be vending at last weekends Blythecon UK in London, and had a part of my stall dedicated to crochet and amigurumi. I made these cupcakes for this event Cheesy

I made them from a personal pattern, but today felt like sharing it on my craft blog, so other crafty people can make their own too Cheesy You can find it here: http://esshaych.com/2015/10/09/free-pattern-friday-cupcake-pincushion/

Thanks for looking! Grin

Love all the ami's!! So cute!! Cheesy

I'm not too sure where my partner has gone, but I know she recieved from me, so I'm posting my own pics of what I sent Grin

I saw on her Wists she likes the Alien Bunny pattern from Etsy, so I bought it and made her one, wearing a hoodie lol He has wire in his arms and legs so he's posable Smiley

I also sent some other bits, including safety eyes and noses, buttons, a Christmas craft book, guinea pig treats, Jelly Belly's and a fancy glitter pen Smiley

3  Oppie The Octopus - Free Pattern in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by EssHaych on: April 16, 2011 11:27:01 AM
Hi! I recently wrote a few new amigurumi patterns and posted them on my craft blog, so I thought I'd share them here as well Smiley This is Oppie, the big mouthed octopus Grin

This pattern gives you the option of making the tentacles all in one piece, instead of one by one. It's pretty tricky working with all them triple crochet stitches, but it makes for a neater finish on the bottom of the ami. I've also included the pattern for making the legs individually Smiley

Hope you enjoy! Grin

Big Mouth Octopus

You Will Need:
Crochet Hook (I used 3.5mm, E)
Double Knit/ Sport Weight/ Light Worsted Weight Yarn in Mint and White
12mm Safety Eyes
Stitch Markers Or Piece Of Scrap Yarn
Fiber fill Or Other Stuffing
Curved Needle (Optional)
Sequins and Seed Beads/Small Beads (Optional)
Cotton/Thread (Optional)
Fine Sewing Needle (Optional)

St/Sts Stitch/Stitches
Ch - Chain Stitch
Sc - Single Crochet
Tr Triple Crochet
Slst - Slip Stitch
Inc (Increase) - 2 Sc into 1 St
Dec (Decrease) 1 Sc across 2 Sts
** - Marks a group of stitches to be repeated until the round is completed

1. Ch 2, Sc 6 into 2nd Ch from hook, or Magic Ring 6 (6)
2. Inc around (12)
3. *Sc, Inc* around (18)
4. *Sc 2, Inc* around (24)
5. *Sc 3, Inc* around (30)
6. *Sc 4, Inc* around (36)
7. *Sc 5, Inc* around (42)
8. *Sc 6, Inc* around (48)
9. *Sc 7, Inc* around (54)
10. *Sc 8, Inc* around (60)
11-16. Sc around (60)

You can take this opportunity to sew on the beads and sequins, before it gets too difficult to reach the inside top of the head. Its very fiddly and time consuming, so you may want to leave this step out. But I think it makes him look all special lol! I used a mixture of sequins and glass seed beads, though any small beads would look fab!

When youve done all the sewing, continue with

17-20. Sc around (60)

You can stop here again and add some individual seed beads lower on the head, if you wanted him to look all fancy hehe!

21. *Sc 8, Dec* around (54)
22. *Sc 7, Dec* around (48)

The head closes up pretty rapidly from here, so youre gonna want to stuff it whilst you go.

23. Dec around (24)

If using Safety Eyes, attach now, half way up the head.

24. Dec around (12)
25. Dec around (6)
*Finish Off, Weave In End*

There are 2 ways of doing the tentacles. You can do them all in one piece, which is the way I did it because it leaves a nicer finish on the bottom of the body, or you can do them individually. Heres how to do them in one piece first

Tentacles (One Piece)
1. Ch 2, Sc 8 into 2nd Ch from hook, or Magic Ring 8 (Cool
2. Inc around (16)
3. *Sc 1, Inc* around (24)

WARNING - This gets VERY fiddly/annoying!! Youre been warned!!

4. Ch 15, 6 Tr in 2nd Ch from hook; 7 Tr in each of the next 7 Chs; 1 Tr in each of the remaining 3 Chs

When youre back to the beginning of the Ch, Skip 2 Sc and Slst into the 3rd Sc of the base circle
Repeat Round 4, 7 more times to make 8 tentacles.
*Finish Off, Leave Long Tail*

If you dont fancy doing it that way, you can do them individually

Tentacles (One by One)
Ch 18, 6 Tr in 4th Ch from the hook; 7 Tr in each of the next 10 Chs; 1 Tr into each of the remaining 4 Chs
*Finish Off, Leave Long Tail*

Repeat 7 more times (or however many youd like!)

Ch 15, Join with a Slst, Ch 1
Sc 18 into the loop, Slst to beginning Ch 1. Ch 1
Sc 18 around, Slst to the Ch 1 at the beginning of the round
*Finish Off, Leave Long Tail*

To make the tentacles abit more curled up, you can give them a twist Clockwise (It may be Anticlockwise if youre left handed, Im not too sure :S)
Sew the tentacle piece/the individual tentacles to the bottom of the body.
Arrange the mouth in whichever shape you would like (Have fun! It could be a perfect O, smiley, sad) on the front of the head, and sew in place.

Tada! Youre done! Grin

Hope you like Oppie! Grin

4  Update: Testers Found - Morris Mouth Amigurumi in Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions by EssHaych on: April 16, 2011 11:02:31 AM
EDIT: Testers Found! Thankies! Cheesy

Hi! I'm looking for a couple of testers for my latest amigurumi, Morris Mouth

It's quite a complicated pattern; you'll need to know how to change colours and be familiar with crocheting in an oval instead of a circle. Plus his mouth dips in in the middle, like a bowl. I've made a PDF pattern with full instructions, but I would say you'd need to be an intermediate or advanced crocheted for this little guy Smiley

I'd like him completed within 2 weeks if that's possible, so there's no rush Smiley If you're interest PM me! All testers will be greatly appreciated!! Cheesy

7  Monsters, Mutant Cacti and an Apple In A Suit in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by EssHaych on: August 23, 2010 11:26:32 AM
It's been a while since I posted anything on here, so thought I'd share some of the stuff I've been making!

This guy is simply called 'Cuddle Monster'. He loves a good cuddle! I used real make up for his cheeks - red eye shadow from my MCR days!

Next is another Monster I made up - he's called Gibbley. I made Gibbley for a contest over on Deviant Art. He has a massive pom pom tail!

This is a little apple ami in an apple cosy. I've always wanted to make an apple cosy, so thought it would be cute to make the apple too!

Last but not least is my first mutant cactus, Specimen 101! He's an aaaaangry Cactus!

I hope you like! Cheesy

I always wanted to be the hero... but I'm too afraid of failing to step up.

Front: I'm afraid I don't have the talent nor the skills to make my dreams come true. Sad

Back: ... and that really makes me sad Sad
Thanks for listening!
