Class/Challenge: Quidditch Round 2 - Keeper
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name & Page Link: Neutral Long Draw Rolags
Brief Description: This is my first Love To Do project completed!  This is 354 yards of neutral wools + alpaca made from rolags that I made myself on my blending board.  It was one and a half full fills of my 8 oz bulky plyer flyer, so I was definitely in one spot for quite a while!  I specifically chose neutrals for my first go so that I wouldn't get too attached to something beautifully colored and get precious about it, but it does mean that whatever I make from it now will go with lots of different things!  I was hoping to get enough yardage for a small cardi, but I still need to figure out my wpi and see where I came out at.

So a broken big toe put me out of commission for a little while, but I'm limping out onto the field...

Class/Challenge: Quidditch Warm Up
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name & Page Link: ATC batch
Brief Description: I keep a set of ATC backgrounds made up and have a specific little drawer with appropriate sized embellishments for them, because they are the perfect "warm up", "I don't know what I want to make today", "everything else in my craft room is a disaster" craft.  No real theme, just getting back into the swing of things.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Astronomy
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Cow Ami for Jayden
Brief Description: I learned to make amigurumi two years ago when I tore my ACL and needed to occupy my mind so I didn't go crazy on the couch.  At that point, I finished an ami for my youngest niece, then I made one for the middle niece, and finally one for the oldest niece.  (Now I'll probably have to start over at the beginning with the youngest one...).  Taurus is a bull, so I'm definitely representing with this cow ami.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: February Detention
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Green Laney Bag
Brief Description: This is a test bag made from 100% stash, in order to try out the bag pattern I want to use for one of my Love to Do projects.  I also thought that the center panel might be a cool place to try some embroidery in the future.  The picture washes it out quite a bit, it's actually a pretty vibrant green. The pattern is the free Laney Hobo from Swoon Patterns.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Arithmancy
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Floral Embroidery Sampler
Brief Description: I randomly got overcome with the urge to learn a new craft (not uncommon for me) and started a Craftsy class on embroidery.  This is the finished, floral-themed sampler.

Good luck with all the mice cleanup.  Our cat once cornered a baby mouse in my sewing machine pedal and I had to do a mad run through of all my fabric to make sure nothing had been contaminated, but I got lucky and nothing had been.  RIP fallen yarn scraps. Cry

House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Long Draw Batt Spin
Brief Description: So this spin was actually expected to be the precursor to long draw spinning, letting twist in.  I was afraid to try a completely new technique because this was a custom made batt I got from LeapFeetFirst in the Shop the Swap.  I was going along, letting twist in, kind of spacing out while listening to a podcast, and lo and behold I was accidentally doing long draw!  (I had watched plenty of videos about it, so I knew theoretically how it worked.)  So this really was kind of unintentionally "lifting off" and enjoying the ride.   Cheesy  And bonus, I got a nice hefty skein of squishy yarn at the end!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Headmistress Challenge March - Flying Car
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Floral Dandelion Double Zipper Purse
Brief Description: This was my test run of the Dandelion Double Zip Handbag from Blue Calla Patterns, and the "real" version is one of my projects for my Love to Do list.  It's made mostly from stash, except I had to order extra large rivets from Purse Supply Depot, because the posts on the regular ones wouldn't hold the 4 layers of vinyl on each strap.  It has two main zip pockets, but then the middle also has a magnetic closure and has a bunch of extra slip pockets, so it definitely feels "bigger on the inside"!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Headmistress Challenge February - Ice Mice
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Handspun basic hat
Brief Description: I have needed a hat with a ribbed bottom that will stay on my head during snow shoveling, and 4 ounces of worsted to bulky handspun usually ends up being just the right amount, so it works out nicely.  I used the pattern from https://highfibreshop.com/blogs/high-fibre-diet-blog/free-knitting-pattern-basic-chunky-knit-hat, but I extended the ribbing by a few rows.  If I did it over (which I very well may since I have a lot of thick handspun), I would play yarn chicken just a teeny bit more and add an extra row or two to the main body as well.

Project Picture: I was trying to get an action shot to show that it fits tightly, so bathroom mirror pic it is!  (I swear I didn't just put on my Hufflepuff swag for this - it's my main around the house sweatshirt)  Cheesy

I love the list challenge, but will have to think pretty hard about what to do for it...

I received these lovely Wonderland-inspired washcloths from Kartiana!  They are almost too pretty to use! Cheesy

I also sent out jemimah's claim today.  It was up to the wire, but I ended up really happy with how it turned out in the end, so I hope it gets there quick!

Omigosh, I love that dice bag! Skating in with probably my last project for the semester unless I have a really productive night tonight...

Class/Challenge/House Pride: History of Magic
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Fair Isle Quick Ombre Hat
Brief Description: Stranded color knitting is the thing I've most wanted to learn since I started knitting.  I've dabbled with swatches and watched a million Craftsy/Bluprint classes on it, but never fully committed.  But it finally clicked!  I really got going with both hands during our last D&D session, and I made my husband roll for me so that I could keep going and get it into my muscle memory!   Grin  I don't love the way the colors turned into each other, since you really can't see the blue/blue speckled section, but just learning the technique was worth the whole project.

House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: "Coney Island" Spinning
Brief Description: Spinning is by far the most meditative craft I do, and while the final colors aren't particularly "quiet", they are much quieter than they started.  This top was a mix of crazy neon colors, so it was very interesting to see how things dulled down as they were spun together.  The final effect is redder than the picture came out, but there are still some interesting neon flecks in it.
