1  Galaxy Print Cosmic Pendants in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by tyney123 on: July 13, 2012 04:31:56 AM
I'm a real sucker for trends sometimes and the new cosmic galaxy print that's sweeping about the fashion world is absolutely luuhh-vvlehh. But sadly I can't pull the print off in clothing as I'm not a skinny-minny by any stretch of the imagination so the big bold pattern will make me look-uh- big and bold also.

So I went about making these, made from polymer clay and then hand painted with acrylic paints.

2  Realistic Jaffa Cake Jewellery Set in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by tyney123 on: July 13, 2012 04:17:01 AM
My most realistic jaffa cake to date. I was tinkering and thinking about how to get the jelly part more jelly like, cause although the older version where I used translucent orange clay worked okay-ish it was more the cutting with a straw I didn't like. Just not the right effect.
So this is the updated version, and with textured bottom too! The jelly part (For anyone who's mildy intrigued) Is liquid fimo gel tinted with teeeny tiny bits of oil paint and dropped onto a lined baking sheet, baked and then trimmed to size. I tried making a wire circle to keep the blobs more circular and a foil bowl but both failed. I want to try again with one of these methods once I've been to a hardware store to find something metal and circular to keep the clay circular. But on with the photos!

3  Elementary My Dear Watson! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by tyney123 on: July 13, 2012 04:06:10 AM
I'm an absolute nut for Sherlock, especially the newer BBC version. So these jewellery pieces are inspired by that wonderful series.

First up is the I.O.U apple that Moriarty carved out for Sherlock in the final episode of te last series. I loved that scene and I loved the iconic apple so much that I made some earrings, and necklaces and a brooch or two. The 2D flat brooch is by far my favourite.

Next are some attempts at the Reichenbach Falls painting. One is hand painted with acrylics. The other is Shrinky-Dink plastic with coloured pencil.

Then Irene Adlers Phone. This was a commissioned piece but I made quite a few to get the feel of how the flip to make a phone.

4  'Baker' The Doctor Who Bear in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by tyney123 on: May 29, 2012 05:51:07 AM
This is Baker.

Isn't he lovely?

For my birthday my mum got me a bunch of those "20 to make" books and one of them was "20 Polymer Clay bears" Some were cute and some a little odd but the general idea didn't seem all that difficult.
So with an evening free and a strip of the polymer clay scarf left about I thought "I know! A Doctor Who bear!" And here he is.
Chocolate brown fur, black shiny nose and glass bead eyes make him and then wrapped around him is the infamous Doctor Who stripy scarf.

I'm thinking I might do a few more, 'Tennant' 'Smith' 'Davison' And so on. Could be fun!

5  Doctor Who Jewellery - Rather a lot of it... in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by tyney123 on: May 20, 2012 07:01:21 AM
Hello all! I've been quite the busy bee since Easter, and my latest craze is making Doctor  Who jewellery and accessories (Also Sherlock and LotR stuff too, but that's another story!) There's a few photos but I'm really proud with how these have come together that I wanted to share ^.^

First up, I made the first sonic screw driver on the left in January this year (2012) the one on the right was made beginning of April. Pretty good improvement I'd say!

10 + 11's Screwdrivers

Larger Versions

River Song's Diary -

I made this way back last year, making an opening using two jump rings and although well liked and received I was never happy with the look. Then one day I was doing the pots and this little thought came to me about using a locket, covering it in clay and it would open and close with a real working hinge. Then I thought about book lockets you can get and this was formed!

To say I'm pleased with it is a small under statement.

And then, to not forget my polymer clay food-ish routes I made this -

An Eleventh Hour food charm bracelet, featuring all the dishes Amelia cooks for the Doctor in the first episode of series 5. I did make one of these, again last year, but this is the new shiny version that looks much prettier and sleeker.

And just to prove how crazy I am I decided I wanted to see how small I could get the dishes...
Quite small apparently, but there's a crazier side of me wanting to go smaller...

And finally, in good Doctor Who sense, let's wrap this up with a bowl of custard and some fish fingers.

6  Whimsy Collection Curio Box - Pic Obese in CHALLENGE 73 ENTRIES by tyney123 on: April 06, 2012 06:35:54 AM
Hello! Okay, after about 2 years of lurking the challenge entries board I'm finally entering! Eeep!

This is my Entry:

A shadowbox/whimsy collection box/Curio Box - Something I've been meaning to do for years now.

Sadly I haven't got any photos of the box at the beginning, I did find it in a drawer in my craft room (where it's been living for about a year!) But Forgot to take some photos of it in position Sad

I collect things. I keep things. Small oddities from my life. But they mount and mount and I've been wanting to do something with them for ages now. Very heavily inspired by this post on craftster: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=339283.0 Lovely.

So this challenge was a perfect opportunity to turn these items:

Into This!

8  Scrap Metal - Necklace, Bracelet & Earring Set in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by tyney123 on: March 27, 2012 02:24:28 AM
If you're ever bored of an afternoon and fancy making something using things from 'that' box(drawer/cupboard/tin/etc) full of things that you promise you'll use one day, then I recommend http://ragstocouture.com/ for inspiration. I wasted a lovely evening going over the projects, taking each one in and one in particular caught my eye:

Cause for some reason, I just don't throw broken/unwanted necklace chain away. I just bag them up and slip them away in my box, promising that I'll do something with them, one day. Finally that day has come!

Very pleased with how the set came together, took a couple of tries to get the style right, but it all came together quite nicely.

Now, fabric chain necklaces, they sound quite fun to make!
Hope you have a happy Tuesday!

9  Princess Clay Figures - Pic Obese! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by tyney123 on: March 07, 2012 01:11:56 PM
So this is my latest venture in the clay world - Started as a gift set for my niece and I just built on that. I've loved making every single one of these. But my favourites are the Ariels and Rapunzels.

Classic 'V' Formation

Lined up:

Rapunzel - I made her first, that's why she's the smallest and squishiest!

Ariel - Forks!!

Belle - Yellow dance dress and a day dress too!

Snow White

Cinderella - With Glass slipper

Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)

I'm insanely happy with how they've all come out, I want to go back and tweak a couple, (Rapunzel, Cinderella) and make a complete uniform set (Uniform in looks & height) Should be fun!

10  English Summer Rose Set in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by tyney123 on: July 24, 2011 11:58:00 PM
This set was inspired by the English roses my Mother is growing in her garden, the rich pink petals melting into a soft yellow seamlessly and their rich scent is so nice on a summer's day (when we get one here in England!)

All the roses have been handmade using fimo blends to create the transition from pink to yellow.

Silver plated findings have been used and the pieces are adorned with real crystal Swarovski beads
