1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crocheting on the right side help on: June 23, 2008 03:25:50 AM
Ok. I`m pretty new to crochet, but I've made a few things and so far I've never had this problem, so I`m really stuck.

In my current project, I turned a chain of 20, then did a row of sc, turned, and found that the side facing me, which should be the right side ( not the one with the bumps) , was the wrong side.

I undid the whole thing, started again, and the same thing happened! I have no idea what's happening! Luckily the piece I`m doing doesn`t need a right side, so I've just continued on - crotcheting on the other side doesn`t actually change the stitches, apparently!

But I would like to solve this problem before I get to my next project, which does have a right side.

Does anyone have any idea what I`m doing wrong?
2  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / DORMANT: Hyperbolic crotchetalong (with pattern link) on: June 22, 2008 07:18:32 PM
I am a complete and utter nerd, so when I saw the pattern - by the Institute for Figuring http://theiff.org/press/interweave.html - for a crochet model of the hyperbolic plane I just had to make one. Turns out they're really good practice for Increasing as well as looking cool.

They're easy, and once you've made one you can alter the pattern to make even stranger looking shapes, or join the Hyperbolic Coral project.

Anyone interested?

By the way, here are some photos of my hyperbolic piece so far to get you interested -

this is after about ten rows with a C hook and really cheap, coarse yarn, increasing every 4th stitch
