1  Re: SUPER MARIO BROS SWAP RND 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Vicious Hyperbolizer on: June 25, 2012 07:29:06 PM
I received some AWESOME mario swag from my partner!

First is this adorable little star box.
I don't know what i'll use it for, but I have more than enough odds and ends to store Smiley

Next was this awesome 1-up mushroom shirt.
It says "Of course I have a life! Actually, I have five"

Finally (and my personal FAVORITE!!) is a Boo shirt. On the front there's a hiding Boo

and on the back...

I love it SO MUCH!
Thank you for so much awesomeness! The t-shirts are sooo comfortable. i don't think I'll ever want to change out of them. Unfortunately the Texas sun got to some of the paint (a little bit of red on the mushroom), but it's not terribly noticeable.
Sorry for the bad picture quality, they're all laptop-done. I wanted to get pictures done as soon as possible. If I get a chance to take better ones later, I'll post 'em Smiley

2  Re: Super Simple Apron Swap Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by Vicious Hyperbolizer on: September 03, 2010 07:25:20 PM
finally got to open my package! It's been sitting in Houston for a few days, while I've been off being collegiate.

I opened my package and it was all nicely wrapped (which made me feel a bit back because that didn't even occur to me Lips sealed )
and the apron is gorgeous

My bf decided to take a picture when I was checking out the nifty details. I decided it was the best picture of the bunch Cheesy

This is a detail shot of the awesome pockets and cherries, and the cherry printed fabric.

The picture is fuzzy but it was the best to give the idea of the shape.

I absolutely love it, such a vintage-y adorable apron. I'll definitely wear it this weekend when I'm cooking my bf his birthday desserts Smiley

3  Rain Poncho Messenger Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Vicious Hyperbolizer on: August 07, 2008 08:29:48 PM
I started making a messenger bag sometime in June out of a rain poncho. It was very large and I loved it. When I took it on a flight, though, the seems split, sad day (though luckily it wasn't on the plane). I had my mom take it home, and I would fix it when I got home.
Instead, I decided to make a whole new one though! Kind of frightening that we had two rain ponchos lying around, but lucky. I used that as an outside and to reinforce it, I used an old stripe-y pillow-case. I love how it looks.

ignore my foot at the right corner xD

I like the added color to the strap, here (again, ignore me at the bottom of the picture)

This is the inside

and the little snaps to hold the bag closed

Wha'dya think?

4  Pentapus! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Vicious Hyperbolizer on: June 11, 2008 03:46:57 PM
One night before standardized testing at school, I got inspired to make a pillow-substitute. I think my first plushy turned out quite adorable, and amazing to use as a pillow.

This is my pentapus-- he's not quite an octopus, but still tries. Made from an old turtle-neck sweater, filled with t-shirt and dress bits (I sadly don't have a good fabric store nearby).
My french teacher actually wanted to buy a few of these little guys, but I didn't get around to it by the time school ended--maybe next year

5  Cardboard box purse and a simple novel-wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Vicious Hyperbolizer on: June 11, 2008 03:41:43 PM
I saw a few book-cover wallets here, and I thought I would give it a try. Being my first time, though, I thought I would make it simple; just the cover and packing tape. Even though it is pretty bare, I love the result-- just enough room for money and a few business cards.

The left two pictures are of the two sides, the right is the unfolded inside, then at the bottom you see the actual money-storing part.

When I was going through my throw-away book pile (which makes me very unhappy to see-- throwing away books should be a crime), I found a second book I would love to do something with, so I got the idea to make a purse. I used an old Budweiser box we had from moving as a base, covered it with white paper, then taped pictures liberally. It's not very well-done (the tape is bubble-y, and the sides don't lie quite right), but I love it all the same. I can't wait to wear it out.

clockwise from the top left corner:the back, the front (flap tucked in), the two sides (featuring Tim Curry as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in RHPS), and the little pouch for the flap to tuck into. Not shown in my medley of pictures is a little inside pocket I made, just big enough for a wallet and a few other important items.
