61  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / a house for birdie on: June 18, 2008 07:47:31 AM
Okay, so I cant take credit for making the wooden house, it was picked up from a gentleman at a craft fair type of thing, but the wood burn design on the house to spice it up is mine. I drew freehand the design and then took my wood burner to etch it  Smiley

thanks for looking  Grin
62  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Once when I was a sham....cover on: June 15, 2008 05:06:32 PM
okay, well you know those zippered clear plastic cases pillow shams sometimes come in? Well, I cant throw those away. I can think of two zillion ways to use those suckers and I noticed a toddler/preschooler usually has a backpack that was either heavy or wasnt lined well enough...nor did I like the look of most I have seen in stores.
SO, I took one of the zippered sham covers and made a slipcover for it out of this fleece that I adored and made a crazy flower to match the fabric of course centered by a fun button and this is what I ended up with. I did sew it to the plastic (which was a pain in the rear due to static cling wanting to attach it to my machine! Didnt want to glide) but now, if there is a juice spill or whatever inside, all is OK and kiddo is totally pleased  Grin
haha- I have been telling everyone lately to please not throw these things out, I will use the cases somehow! Smiley

Oh, and sorry for the pic quality, still having to use the scanner due to camera troubles  Roll Eyes

Thanks for checking it out!
63  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / travel size crochet hook wallet/cozy for the SIL on: June 14, 2008 09:14:02 AM
My SIL's birthday is coming up and she loves to crochet and is required to travel a lot with her work and has a time keeping up with her favorite crochet hooks. SO, for her special day I made her a travel sized wallet for her hooks. She usually leans towards soft tones so I chose a pretty cotton print for the exterior as well as the inside pocket and I lined it with pink felt & put on a pretty trim. I made the pockets for the hooks different sizes to fit her various hooks...
anyway, its my first project to post on here...and here it is  Smiley
(sorry for the quality, had to use my scanner  Roll Eyes )
