1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Re: ATC Storage Book on: October 28, 2009 04:50:27 PM
The tutorial is on my blog: http://aurabella-belle.blogspot.com/2009/09/feeling-crafty-with-tutorial.html
Not the best tutorial, but I think most people can figure it out.

Actually, it still has a lot of texture.  This is a photograph, so maybe if it was a scan you could see it better.  I attached it to another card because the tree bark can get brittle once it dries out a bit and I was concerned with it breaking or cracking.  I am a huge fan of texture, so I wouldn't do something that would totally take that away.  Am I wrong to think that it might break apart?  Just curious since I've never used bark before.

The wallpaper is on top, that's the piece I stamped.  I attached the bark to cardstock.  The other thing that I did is when I got the tree bark home, I placed it under a board so it would flatten out while it dried a bit.  Once it dries, it becomes a little more brittle, so if it isn't flat before you use it, it will break.

Thanks.  I posted a tutorial on my website.  I was going to post it here but thought it might be way to long for the message board.

Hey, I just finished a really cute storage book for atc's.  Probably will be tweaking it a bit, but I am totally in love with it.  You can personalize it with your own pretty papers, something I don't have.  Already got some presentation board cut up for several more once I get some pretty papers.  Guess I should've actually put atc's in the album so that you could see how they fit in, but I was just glad to have finished the design.
Enjoy.

I actually attached the bark to a card, but it didn't stick on some parts, so I ended up having to use more glue.  I just used a permanent glue stick and it is working great now.  The top paper is a piece of wallpaper that I stamped.  I had gotten a wallpaper sample book for $3, so I have been using that on some backgrounds.  You can't tell in the picture, but the paper is graduated in color.  I found the bark at our local Target on the trees in the parking lot.  I loved it so much, I may have to grab some more off the ground before it gets gone!

New ATC's, let me know what you think

ATC made from Birch bark that I pulled off a tree.

This is just a drawing

This is Mexican Bingo cards decoupaged, gessoed, scrapped some of the gesso off and stamped/embossed.

Does anyone know a good way to prevent the paper from bubbling or having wrinkles underneath when gluing?
