31  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / i made a fascinator! on: August 19, 2008 04:13:19 AM
after seeing a tutorial on lj i knew i had to have one!

so whilst watching lord of the rings-the two towers i made myself one.

i used a clear comb, some green ribbon,a fake leaf and 4 fake flowers. against the advice of everyone else i stitched it together and although it is pretty simple i like it as you can get that boho flowers in her hair look without your hair accessorie wilting!

i hope you guys like it! im gonna make another simple one for school.i am thinking black ribbon with white flowers(all hair things must be black white or blue ever since i wore a tiara for school!)

here goes

33  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / raw silk sari wool help! on: July 26, 2008 02:32:35 AM
my mum just bought some raw silk wool made from the remanants of sari silk.

after consulting me(i dont know why i am terrible at knitting!) we decided it would make a nice scarf. the only problem is that it is very stiff when knitted(my mum showed me the first few rows)

she was going to do a bag instead but we have no end of bags in our house!

we really cant think what to do with it so i promised her id post something here to ask the experts!

hope you can help!!

34  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / my summer crafting ruined on: July 23, 2008 12:53:07 PM
a few weeks ago my friends mum gave me OODLES of woven fabrics she didnt want (she mainly sews leotards) and i mean OODLES!

a few weeks previous to that my brother went in my room as i was busy reading and sat at my desk.
"cool your sewing machine!"
"yes.no touchy"
"oohh a knob!"
(he beigns to twiddle knobs and puts his foot down to make it go as fast as he can)
"STOP IT!!!"

turns out now the tension on my machine is RUINED! the top stich is fine on top but on the bottom is ginourmous loopsthat look terrible and arent that sturdy. i have read the manual and adjusted it to within a inch of its life but it wont co-operate ):

and what makes this even more ridiculous is that my brother is 18.

ARGHHH!!!!!!!!! Angry

I made this dress from scraps of material and a vest top. It was a reserve dress for a party i went to a few weeks ago. Alltogether I made 4 dresses fro that party :S

I made the underskirt from an old and way too long gypsy style skirt.
