3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting N00b here :/ on: March 19, 2011 03:16:53 PM
i can honestly say google and youtube are your best freinds,
everything will be online somewhere, ive just started to knit a couple of weeks ago and have found everything i need on the net.
you can do your own patterns easily,
i use kg chart and import pictures onto that and it maps it out for you
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Let the beginners learn fully! on: March 19, 2011 03:13:14 PM
ive just recently taught myself to knit again, the last couple of weeks,
everything i have learnt has been from online tutorials, i must say of all the things ive looked at ive not come across anywhere that suggests having someone to show you to cast on. i really cant see the point in that, casting on is like one o the important things you need to be able to know to be able to really progress anywhere. there is enough information on the net to be able to learn things yourself and books too, casting on for me was a knightmare to start with but after ten minutes i grasped it, it;s the 3 p's isnt it, patience practice and perseverance and if you havent got that then theres no point in even doing it.
i totally agree that you need to start at the beginning
