Aww, that's sweet! The best presents are those that someone made with you in mind! It's like "All that effort just for me?" <batting eyes> It's a great idea, great songs and great covers (and what a great girlfriend)!

That February record could've been mixed by me - good choice in music there. Wink

422  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Christmas Stockings with Lining & Machine Embroidered Names on: November 29, 2004 12:44:27 PM
You know, sometimes less is more. In this case I think that's totally true.

I've always been fascinated by this American/British (?) Christmas stocking tradition. Here in Sweden we don't do that at all. Ever since I, as a little girl, happened across the fenomenon watching a Disney Christmas special on TV I wanted one so badly, I couldn't stop begging for one. So maybe that's the reason why my parents put me up for adoption (heh)!  Wink Now I got a store-bought stocking, but it isn't half as cute as yours. Mine look kinda... um... tacky. Boring tacky that is.

You did a great job, it's very pretty! Nice choice colors, perfect material... Sweet and simple (not plain)!
423  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Princess Kit on: November 28, 2004 05:41:41 PM
This is absolutely fabulous.
A pirate kit? Hmmm...
-eye patch
-wooden leg
-stuffed parrot
-pirate dictionary
-chocolate gold coins
-ship in a bittle
-pirate hat
and of course...
-pirate flag

Oh-oh-oh I got an idea here: Why not make a map that actually leads to where the great treasure (a.k.a the Pirate Kit) lies buried?! You could write down riddle-y pirate-y hints, or directions like "23 giant steps east", "5 cartwheels north" (and include a compass?)  Grin.
Those directions would be easy to personalize and if it's an adult treasure hunt (I can see that happen) you could throw in a couple of mildly embarrassing/dare-you elements, like "ask (person) in (store/caf/whatever) for further instructions". Um... I could obviously go on and on and on and on and on about this...  Roll Eyes But I won't.

And don't you forget that bottle of Rum.

PS decibel Hello Kitty toasters are awesome, I got mine off the Sanrio website for 60 bucks but the other day I got one for a friend at Target for only 20!

Oh bummer, that's just the problem, we don't have Target over here (across the Atlantic from you guys)... Sad story. I'm aiming for the Sanrio www version too, and I'm so looking forward to become a proud owner of a pretty pink Hello Kitty toaster, but I don't look forward to paying a zillion for it to actually arrive here. Shipping and taxes are almost as expensive as the toaster itself, I think!

It's all worth it though. justagirl - you know what I'm talking about, right?  Wink Does your toaster leave little Kitty faces on every piece of bread too? That's just dreamy!

Wowza! I wanna be a princess now, too.

Clever idea. Great friend.

Yay for your craftiness and your good-friendliness!  Wink

Oh, this is so fantastically cute and Buffylicious! You've come up with such a cool idea. She (?) would make a perfect Christmas present, are you planning on giving her away?

I can see a whole family thing happening here... You know, the big bad mom and dad notebooks, the smaller teenage daughter diary, and the tiny baby address-book!  Grin

Eyes would look great, just as mrsatama said, and maybe even furry "arms" to make some sort of a snap closure? The possibilities are endless... Well, I'll stop rambling now...

Thanks for the inspiration DithMer!  Kiss

Oh oh oh oh oooooooooh! The BBC mini-series version of Pride and Prejudice!! *melts* Oh sweet mother of god, that one is so much above everything else of Austen's work that ever was made into film. I've seen it at least a billion times... *drool*  Grin

I love Lizzie. I love Mr Darcy. I love their costumes. I love their little hankies and gloves and bonnets and hair and shoes and... all of it. I love Jane Austin. I love everything that era. Hell, I love England!! And I think I'll go make myself some afternoon tea. Now.
