1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / chunky cabled cardigan on: August 05, 2007 08:59:05 PM
hi kids!  so i've always wanted to try cables and am in need of a cardigan.  tada! solution.  i found this pattern that i really want to try out, but i want other people to try it out too!http://www.canadianliving.com/CanadianLiving/client/en/Crafts/DetailNews.asp?idNews=237130&idSM=307
and since i've never done cables or a full out cardigan (buttonholes frighten me) before, i was hoping that i could get some info and support for all you go guys!

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / headbands out of a record? on: September 02, 2006 11:36:18 PM
so i was thinking a lot a lot about headbands cause i love them.  and i though about how someone made bracelets out of records by melting them in the oven and then cutting them up.  i think i saw it on crafster a while ago, i'm sorry i can't remember or find the thread.  anyways i was thinking about how cool it would be so form the record into a headband shape.  has anyone tried this?  and if you're the super awesome smart and innovative person who made the bracelets, what did you use to cut the record? any info is appreciated!  i'm gonna try it sometime anyways, if i can find that one record that was saving up.
3  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Head Huggers (the neck one) i need help! on: February 14, 2005 08:38:23 PM
okay, i don't need help on the flowers.  i'm not far enough to be stumped on that yet.
i was making the neckwarmer and the edges looked very weird.  one side was perfectly fine but the other side kept twisting ans getting a little knotty if that makes sense.  you know when you slipp knitwise instead of purlwise? or vice versa, that's what happens.  But i just try to follow the directions so i don't really know.  and when it says to slip1 then rib 1 X 1, do you start with a knit or purl stitch?  cause that may be my problem.
i appreciate any advice you have for me.  thanks a bunch!
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / wire bracelets on: December 30, 2004 09:56:27 PM
my best friend and i had the urge to make some wire braided bracelets.  so we did.  here's mine, i'm afraid that i forgot to photograph hers before she left to go home.
there are heart shaped pony beads and bended wire hanging off. a star, an apple, and i was trying to make a mushroom but it looks almost like a muffin or messed up brain haha oh well.

 and here's me wearing it

i hope you guys like them!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my first knitting project on: October 25, 2004 08:46:22 PM
this is my first knitting project.  my mother taught me how to knit a long time ago but i never really did anything with the knowledge.  but i decided that i needed to venture into knitting cause my crochet projects are good but not warm enough.
i made an arm warmer out of brown and pink yarn
it says LOVE.  haha we all need some love.  it was a little long so i like to scrunch it.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / whistle earring on: October 16, 2004 10:07:29 AM
so i made an earring out of this whistle i found lying around my house. and i like it so much i wanna make more!  problem is i have no idea where the whistle came from.  it's a little plastic one.
here's a picture

when i wore it people kept asking me if they can blow my whistle haha.
anyways, if anyone knows where i can find some whistles please tell me.  thanks a bundle!
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / deer bag on: October 13, 2004 10:47:54 PM
so my sister's a crazy one.  when she saw my jordy bag she wanted one too (but who wouldn't want a jordy bag?) but she can't sew.  so for her birthday i made her this bag
there's a deer on it.
here's a close up
sorry, you can't really see the pink inner ears or stiches cause of the flash.
i got this deer from www.needlecrafters.com.  it was an embroidery pattern that i cut out and then traced it onto a piece of felt then cut it out and machine sewed it onto the bag.
i think i did okay but my sister's in love with it.  the deer's pretty cute i do think though.
what do you guys think?
