ah yes but if you choose pink super thin striped socks with a solid pink toe...

ha.  just imagine practicemonkey without limbs, ears, and tail!

no worries, sofee.  this is just practicemonkey.  i'll probably have one or two practicemonkeys with bargain socks before i get started for real.  Smiley
if you hadn't of pointed out his phallic-ness i totally wouldn't have noticed but now i can't push it out of my head!
he is super cute though and i actually can't wait to see what to conjure up for me Cheesy but i guess i'll have to be patient

3  dress prototype in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by sofee on: January 20, 2010 03:25:19 PM

made as a practise run
i need to practise my scallops so they're less buckled but other than that i think i'm ready to make the real thing (also: must buy white thread, i had to use pink - oops!)

EDIT: i'd like to add that this dress was made for myself, and despite only being 19 i try not to consider myself as a child anymore, so whoever reported this to be moved to kids clothing; thanks for the thought, but it's definately an adult dress Wink

4  Re: hem help :( in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by sofee on: January 20, 2010 08:48:25 AM
yeah the side seams are already sewn
another thing which seems to be adding to my problem is there's alot more fabric at the front than the back which makes it really difficult to get the whole thing to lie flat
(i know pictures would probably be helpful but i have no idea where my camera is so i'm afraid your stuck with my MS paint skills)

that's pretty much what it looks like, i'm wandering if i take the gathers out and leave them untill i've done the hem whether that would help??

8  anyone know how i'd go about making a feather collar? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by sofee on: December 10, 2009 07:56:22 AM
like this

i'm guessing a basic fabric collar with feathers sewn on in layers??
what kind of feathers would i use and where could i get them from? i've got some craft feathers left over from a cowboy and indians party but they're to artificial looking (not to mention pink, green purple etc..) and have a tendency to bald and gap easily
