2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: I need sci-fi food (or: Take me to your food cubes!) on: August 25, 2009 06:56:59 PM
I apologize ahead of time, I'm getting carried away. For firefly you could do a spin on fruity oaty bars. For Battlestar, you could do algae looking things (ambrosia, goop[cottage cheese, lime jello, whipped cream I know it sounds gross but its pretty yummy]. Chocolate oatmeal no bake cookies to look like meteors, jello in piping bag to look a little like space rations or to play on newer star wars shape shifter abilities. I think that's as far as my short creativity leash will let me go... Hope I could help a little bit... Smiley

Playing on queensqueeze's idea. You could do dehydrated strawberries. Like space travel (and hiking) Most food is dehydrated or freeze dried. Theres a few great recipes floating around. You have my brain running a thousand miles a minute so I may come back here in an hour with some more ideas.

7  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Looking for some truly mexican dishes? on: January 10, 2009 02:05:28 PM
Hello there! I want to start out this post saying I don't mean any of it to come off sounding rude, I'm terrible with words... Undecided I've been looking around for some mexican recipes...trying to get as close to "home" as possible.. Ha. I've found many recipes for enchiladas (preferably red), tamales, mole, gorditas, rellenos and so on, but the majority have been american-ized. Good mexican food should take a long time to make. So if anyone has some good old family recipes to share or even to point me in the right direction to where I could find these I would very very much appreciate it. Thank you!
