1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Painting/Drawing on Vinyl on: February 03, 2011 01:17:54 PM
So I've been totally obsessed with this purse FOREVER

I bought some vinyl fabric but am trying to figure out what would be best to paint or draw my designs on it before I sew it up. Craftster and you creative people are my last resort. I just can't figure out how to do this so it wont wear off!

<3 Thanks!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Bella's Mitts on: December 12, 2008 03:09:00 PM
So I've been reading the Twilight books and saw the movie. I didn't really care for the movie but I did love Bella's long cabled mittens. Thanks to raverly and this post: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=280787.0 I found subliminalrabbit's pattern inspired by the movie. I think they turned out great, thanks to an amazing, well written pattern.

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Need ideas, 5th Element Costume on: September 08, 2008 09:17:41 AM
So for halloween this year my roommate and I have decided to throw a killer party and go all out. After debating on costumes I've decided Leeloo from the fifth element and my boyfriend as corban dallas. I thought it'd be a cute and slightly original couples costume. I wanna do the costumes from when they're getting on the ship ("Leeloo Dallas multipass").

I figure my Corban's outfit will be relatively easy, black pants with a orange shirt and hopefully with a bit of thrifting I can find a similar coat which I can then alter. Although I'm ok with showing a bit I'm not a huge fan of slutty costumes so the shirt will most likely be longer, but that's an easy find. Then I figured I'd just get some gold leggings and paint on stripes and add a belt. Now the one I'm having real trouble with is the suspenders. Ideas so far include wide elastic dyed and sewn, vinyl, or just plain wide ribbon. I don't want anything that's gonna cause some cammel toe action when I move but I don't want it to be too baggy.
I figure once I get it all figured out it'll be a relatively easy costume but I need a little help with ideas.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My comfy star dress on: July 03, 2008 03:52:15 PM
So I found this fabric in the clearance section, plus an extra 50% off. The black band at the top is leftover from a purse. Used a free burda pattern. I really just wanted to try out the pattern and see what the style would look like on me. I had to add a belt to go with it or it would have looked like a mumu. For that I just sewed together a few pieces of strech lace. Nothing monumental and it's definatly not perfect but it's comfy and great for summer!

Oh, more pics on my blog   l
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Brown Houndstooth Purse on: June 09, 2008 08:29:58 PM
I'm pretty proud of how well this turned out, I love the houndstooth!

If only it were my style, I would keep it and use it forever!
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Recycled Shopping bags into so much more on: June 06, 2008 02:30:52 PM
I love using recycled materials and once I got a hang on fusing plastic bags I was hooked! Here's some of my small pouches and wallets that I just finished. They're really fun and really easy to make!

That last one is a wallet.

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pleated Glory on: May 22, 2008 08:41:18 AM
So I'm raising money for the American Cancer Society with Relay for Life this year. My brother had about a million old pairs of pant that didn't fit any longer and I thought that using them to make some purses to sell would be a great way to raise some funds. This is probably my favorite so far, it's the perfect size and I'm probably going to make some more just like it!

this picture I think is just beautiful, I love the pleats!

the back pleat, yumm

my tag I'm putting inside each of these bags, the cancer ribbon since all proceeds are going to cancer research and the recycle logo because I'm quite proud that it's all earth friendly!
