1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Help for Ideas - Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys at the Office on: December 04, 2009 01:40:23 PM
At my office all departments on our floor are having a decorating contest for the holidays.  Our department just decided on the theme "Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer/Island of Misfit Toys"

I was voted to be the "Doll" because apparently I look like it, and a few other characters we have people that are going to potray in some way are....
-Charlie is going to be the Charlie in the box(we are thinking of decorating his cubicle to look like the box)
- Yukon Cornelius
- "bumble"
- Herme
I also have a rudolph doll that I'm bringing in.  And we're going to go with a very snow winter theme.

Any ideas on how to pull this off in a bunch of cubicles?  We have 24-25 cubicles.  And not all cubes are next to each other.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / How to Make an Ugly Gray Wall spectacular? on: August 25, 2009 08:33:14 AM
Here's the story, moved back to parents house, decided to redo the bedroom I'd be living in.  It was previously in all Philadelphia Eagles gear(due to their design to Sign Michael Vick I am no longer supporting that football team and ripped it down in a hasty and very angry way).  I painted 3 walls white, and one as an accent wall gray, with black trim.  The gray is a color called "Mickey's Shadow"...well...the paint swatch looked more silver...and now...that wall basically looks like what color I would paint a prison if I was designing a prison....

I'm looking for crafty ways to brighten it up or make it not so drab?  Maybe wall painting of designs, pop art, sponge painting, spray paint, accent pillows anything really...but just some ideas because I'm stumped.
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / zombies, zombies, and zombies, oh my!...ideas needed on: August 03, 2009 07:12:51 AM
Okay so here's the story...
I'm going to Salem, MA this year with my mom, my best friend, her sister, their mom, and their cousin.  We are planning on going to the "Retro Zombie Ball"...awesome right?

So I'm thinking of a costume ideas...there is a cash prize for most creative/best zombie.  And let's face the facts, I love Halloween so I at least want to be considered.

Supplies I already have include a bruise wheel and liquid latex(may need to buy some more).  I'm a professional face painter so I have some paints and supplies that can make my body look all green or blue or purple or yellow or gray...

Here is what I need help with:

1.  Awesome zombie costume ideas.  Group zombie ideas.  Maybe different decades of zombies(the further back the decade the more decay she will have).  Or disney princess zombies?  Anything for just me...that isn't a group idea.
2.  In case I'm zombie-fying myself the idea my mommy and I came up with is...she can be the survivor who hasn't been changed yet!  I have a copy of the "zombie survival guide" that I think would be cute to have her carry around.  This way she doesn't have to have too much make up or fx on her face.  What are your suggestions for a suvivor of a zombie attack?
3.  Best zombie make up tutes you know of?  Or ideas?

<Edit-talked to friend...her and her family are planning on dressing in red dresses with black heels and just trying to stand out, she is recently divorced and wants to pick up dudes, I get that...however I have a dude already, and I love zombie and horror and halloween makeup so just ideas for me as a zombie, and my mom as a zombie survivor>

5  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Crafty Beauty Tips for Traveling on: June 24, 2009 08:03:20 AM
Hello all,

While I haven't made any of my own soaps yet(although looking forward to this and just need to find the time to sit down and do it...) I do appreciate all of the crafts in here.  Amazing and awesome, really!

I'm going to be traveling to London July 13th through the 19th.  And I'm trying to think of crafty ways to bring my makeup/beauty/bath supplies.  I know all about flight restrictions for carryons.  But any suggestions to how to organize these things for optimum packing?

Also any tips on how to stay pretty looking on a 7 hour flight?  Oooh...like maybe a DIY dry shampoo tute?
6  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / London Questions for Craftster Members on: June 22, 2009 06:38:48 AM
I'm traveling to London the week of July 13th.

I'm wondering if there is a place to buy Asquith and Somerset products in London?  Or if they are sold all over....?

I've bought their shampoo and conditioner before and I love it!!!! So crafty! At least in my opinion.  No matter how much I try I can not get a nice enough banana conditioner.

Also, which markets/craft stores would you recommend for someone who is visiting?
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Need Help - Moving back with parents, but forced to take the smallest room ever on: May 29, 2009 10:18:44 AM
Hey everyone,  I apologize in advance for a long story, but here it is.  A year ago I moved in with my boyfriend of 2 years, we're currently still dating, but have been fighting so much we have decided it is best that I move back home(mainly because I can't afford a place on my own so that's really my only option, and he can afford it on his own).  We don't plan on breaking up, and if all goes well, both agree that we woudn't live together again until we've gotten married.  We just think it may have been a mistake to move in so soon and that both of us need some growing up before we do the whole "forever" thing.  So I'm moving back in to my paren'ts house over the weekend...I know I know I'm a boomerang adult!!! Embarrassed Please spare your hatred for me!!!

Boyfriend got laid off, so since we weren't breaking up I'm staying at the apartment with him for now.  But I'll keep all the great ideas in mind if I do end up having to move back home.

9  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: Southeast / Favorite Fabric Row Store - Philadelphia on: March 23, 2009 10:06:44 AM
I see that this board tends to be kind of slow, but I was daydreaming about taking a trip to fabric row this upcoming saturday.  And I thought to myself...ooh I could ask craftster where they like to shop on fabric row...

So any ideas?!
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Help Deciding Which Purse to Make on: March 17, 2009 12:50:39 PM
I hope this is the best place to ask this...(edited to not be a rambling mess)

I know it's a bit odd, but in July I'm traveling to London for about 5 days so I can go to a Michael Jackson concert.  While there I plan on sight seeing for 2 of the days, and I plan on jamming as much sightseeing into that time as possible.

I'd like to make a purse that will be big enough to carry a nifty purse organizer as well as a make up bag.  I'd like the purse organizer to be big enough to carry a travel guide/map, passport, wallet, and umbrella, and still be able to have room to shove a bag or two of goodies inside.

I'm looking for advice on which type of bag to make.  I'm not a huge fan of tote bags, yet that's all I can really think of.  I'd also like to have a zipper and advice on best fabrics to use. And lastly I want to incorporate Michal Jackson onto the bag somehow.

Any suggestions will be appreciated!!!
