1  Re: June 2011 Birthday Swap Discussion and Gallery in The Swap Gallery by amylouwho93 on: July 08, 2011 10:21:27 PM
I received from MeganCrafts today! I got home after an arduous 8-hour drive home from Canada to find a lurvly package waiting for me--I am SO happy right now!  Megan did some great stalking and found out my favorite color, hobbies, and more--I'm impressed!  Grin

So much stuff!!

Card #1: The cutest hand-drawn bike ever!

Card #2 and STICKERS!

After pulling this gem out of the box I ran to the bathroom and stuck it on my head...

Yes I was wearing grody clothes b/c I had been in the car forEVER...please excuse my yuckiness!

Yay for purple and bicycles!!!

B-Day pin...I pinned this on myself too and paraded around Smiley

Cassette tape wallet straight from my Wists! It used to be a Kenny G Christmas tape Tongue

All together! I also got some wonderful tea: Green tea with mint, Green tea with Pomegranate, Salat Green tea, and two varieties of hand-mixed: Green tea with mango and Japanese pan-fried Green tea!

2  Bomb.Com Bomber Hat!! (Pic Obese!) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by amylouwho93 on: January 20, 2011 09:52:54 PM
I am so thrilled! This past week I have completed two bomber hats. Unfortunately the first one was too small...but the next one fit perfectly! I put pictures of both of them below. The first (with grey faux fur) I sent to my sister, down in California, who is now adoring and caring for it as is proper.  Smiley

Now, for the picture feast!

The first hat (grey fur and purple, brown, and gold tartan pattern)

Neither of those is particularly great, but they're all I have :/

Second hat (brown fur with same tartan, larger pom poms.)

Yeah I'm a dork....deal with it!  Tongue

Typical MySpace pose....ha ha

Funny story: When my drama teacher saw the huge pompoms he was all, "Amy, your head is being eaten by dingleballs!" OH gosh I love Mr. Sherrard....

Anyhoo, any comments and or criticisms are welcome! The pattern is from a Threadbanger tutorial...I can't find the link right now but if you go to their site and search for Bomber Hat it should come up.

3  Winnie the Pooh Corduroy Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by amylouwho93 on: May 12, 2010 07:52:42 AM
A new purse I made!  I love Winnie the Pooh (that bear with a head full of fluff!) so I used WTP flannel for the liner and come nice red corduroy for the outside and pocket.  I made my friend one with teal corduroy and grean WTP flannel, but I forgot to take pics.... Sad

Anyhoo, onto the pictures!

The outside of the bag, complete with a little patch just for the heck of making it look "loved":

This one kinda shows the inside, again, sorry for the fuzziness!

4  Hand-sewn California Poppy iPod Case (Personalized!) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by amylouwho93 on: May 12, 2010 07:49:43 AM
Halloo there!

So, I just finished making my fourth iPod case.  I had made the other three for friends, relatives, etc. but I wanted one myself.  California Poppies are my favorite flower, and my name starts with 'A', so what better case to make than one with poppies and an "a"?

Here are some pics to show you the full case, flower detail, etc.  I was going to add a silk poppy to the front, but I decided it would be better to make one out of felt and sew it on.  I built the petals gradually by cutting out triangles, crazy stitching the end, and then sewing them onto a common center.

(Sorry the pics are a bit fuzzy!)

5  I Can Has Shrinky Dink Ringz Now? in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by amylouwho93 on: May 12, 2010 07:44:55 AM
Hello all!

I was totally inspired by gwennie363's tutorial on making some Shrinky Dink rings, so I decided to make my own!  I took some liberties with them as far as colors (one is a made up stone), and I made some have silver bands instead of gold.  I colored all of the parts with fine tip Sharpies and Primacolor markers, no colored pencil here!  On with the photos!

The made-up stone (amethyst mixed with amber) and the "sapphire" (which was supposed to be a diamond, but turned out too blue....Sad

6  The "Fascinating" Mr. Spock Warning- IMG obese! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by amylouwho93 on: August 19, 2009 09:48:16 PM

So, after a good long day of crafting, here is one of the fruits of my labors.  His name, in case you couldn't tell, is Mr. Spock and I luvs him!  I used GIMP to turn up the contrast and decolorify a pic of Mr. Spock, then sketched it onto a canvas and painted him in beauteous colors!  I am planning another painting of the same style for the Star Trek Swap, Round 4.  I would have waited to post this later but I just couldn't!  Anyhoo, without further ado, here is the Fascinating Mr. Spock!

Stage 1, the line drawing:

Stage 2, painting in the blue:

Step 3, painting one coat of the pink:

Step 4, enjoying after a second coat of pink!:

I am very happy with him!  As I said, another crew member will soon share his fate!  I hope that you all like him!

Loves, Amy

7  MORE Foodie items! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by amylouwho93 on: December 23, 2008 12:42:21 PM
So when I lasted posted (Two Foodie Bracelets), I had just attempted to make Sculpey food for the first time.  The lovely Diane B. responded and gave me some new tips and so, while I am waiting for my sculpey supply to run out so that I can justify buying a different brand of clay, I have made more food charms!  I feel pretty good about this whole Sculpye food thing for it being my second time ever trying.  Lol, I got very hungry when making the PB&J sandwiches though, so I had to go get two crackers and make myself a mini sandwich to snack on.  Yummy, peanut butter.......Anyway, here are the photos from this second attempt.  Enjoy!!

8  Two Foodie Bracelets in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by amylouwho93 on: December 20, 2008 11:51:38 AM
Okay, so I made these bracelets for friends for Christmas, and it was my first time making food out of Sculpey.  I was so freaked out!  I really admire Kishcrafts for all of her food-related work with Sculpey, and I wanted to try to make my own.  Here are the results, I hope everyone likes them!
First up is the Asian-themed bracelet, complete with shrimp, rolls, yakisoba and bokchoy.

Next is the Key Lime Pie bracelet!  Yummy!

9  Collaged Rcipe Box (Image Heavy!) in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by amylouwho93 on: August 20, 2008 10:54:32 PM
Hello Everyone!

Alright-y, so I made a partner a recipe box kind of like this for the Alton Brown/ Good Eats swap and I decided that I really wanted to make myself one as well, so here are the fruits of my labor!  Enjoy!

The top of my box says, "It's Time To Show The Kids WHERE SALAD COMES FROM".  Also up here are tomatoes, flowers, corn kernels, plates of salad, and scoops of ice cream.  Yummy inspiration for my cooking!

The front of my box shows pumpkins, cookies, flowers, soup, cherries and chocolate, different types of squash, and some zucchini blossoms.

"It's Time To Find Your TOMATO MOJO" says mah box.  Also over here are a bowl of soup and a pear.

Daffodils, radishes, orange juice and a "veggie" cut-out decorate the left side of my recipe box.

The back of my recipe box, with such delectable goodies as cherries, garlic, ginger snaps, paprika, a lemon bar, and the infamous phrase, "Got Milk?".

The bottom, with Hershey's chocolate and some cucumbers, eggplants, etc.

The innards of my recipe box.

I've been thinking, and I might want to put some sort of liner on the inside.  I'm not sure yet though...Hmmm.....Well, anyway, thank you for looking!  All feedback is welcome, as always!

10  Strawberry Amigurumi (First-Time pattern Making Attempt!) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by amylouwho93 on: August 20, 2008 10:47:29 PM
Deep in the forest that the locals call "The Internets", a crafty explorer named Amy risked life and limb to find the ultimate prize:  A simple pattern for an amigurumi style strawberry.  She jumped into pits filled with the infamous "Server Unable To Load" bugs; she rummaged through messy web blogs, filled with over the top seizure-inducing advertisements; she even looked on *gasp* eBay.  But all to no avail.  There was not a single strawberry pattern to be found!

So, Amy decided to do what she had never even thought of attempting before:  She was going to make a pattern!  She had only learned to crochet two days ago, but that didn't matter to her.  She Wanted That Strawberry!!

Okay, so you get the drift.  There really were not any plain old strawberry patterns, no matter where I looked!  I just kind of winged this one, so I didn't write down the pattern.  I hope that it looks okay though!  I do want people's opinions on one thing:

Do you think that it should have a face with eyes?  Or just leave it as is?

Please leave your advice in you replies!  And now, for the three photos:

All comments, positive and negative, are welcome!
