31  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My first skirt!! ^^ on: June 01, 2008 11:20:36 AM
After my first bag and a purse, I tried the circle skirt. This has been really hard to make, and I had some problems putting the zipper. But here it is. I don't know if I'm wearing it, as it has wrinkles in the satin tape attached to the tulle (the tulle is circle but the satin tape isn't), and finally the waistband is not as good as I wanted (it's quite big in the waist).

Anyway, I'm quite happy with it, as I have learned a lot! Advices are welcome to solve the problems for the next time. ^^

Thanks for looking!

WOW! Awesome work! I love the fabrics, specially the skulls one and the cat comic... The first bag looks fantastic! I wanna find fabrics like that, but in my city (I'm from Spain) is really hard...

Good work!

Great combination of fabrics. I also like the front zippered pocket, very useful. ^^

It looks great! I'm trying to make my first piece of clothing too (a circle skirt)... Did you spend a lot of time on yours?

I love your idea. I think I'm gonna use it for a bag too. I always wear a lot of black clothes combined with a little touch of colour. It would be nice to have a basic black bag with different colour flaps!

I also think about the zipper... Velcro can be useful, but sometimes dangerous, especially near a wool sweater!

Thank you for sharing your great project!

What a wonderful fabric! I have to look for one of this kind... Great work!

Thank you very much for your tutorial... I've used your idea a little bit modified to create this (I didn't use the fabric pieces in the zipper, and I added the corset detail):

Thanks again! It's great you share your knowledge with us, I'm just a beginner and I'm learning a lot with tutorials!
