1  How to alter skirt I made that's too big now? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Cheiri on: May 12, 2012 09:14:58 AM
I made a pencil skirt a long time ago, and have since lost weight. I'd still like to wear this skirt, but I don't know how to alter it to make it fit better.

This is how it currently fits:

It's too big around the waist, and it's not form fitting at all anywhere.

This is how I'd like it to fit:

Form-fitting, especially around the bum area - though I'd still like to walk in it, haha...

Thank you for any help! (I've searched this question but couldn't quite grasp what to do still. I'm a novice seamstress!)

3  Re: Candy Corn Pudding - Quick Halloween Treat! in Halloween Decor and Parties by Cheiri on: October 30, 2010 08:38:42 PM
Definitely not as pretty as yours, but I just wanted to whip it up and eat it! Smiley

It was sooo yummy. I used whipped cream instead of cool whip and sprinkled a bit of cinnamon on the top (which really made it delicious). My family and I loved every spoonful! Thanks for the idea Smiley

4  Hooded/Cowl-Neck Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Cheiri on: October 24, 2010 07:20:08 PM
So... I made this using sweet fancy moses' awesome tutorial. Smiley And it ended up being my first wearable item! I'm so proud even though there are lots of little mistakes.

(By the way, sorry for the phone-in-mirror pics. I took them in the bathroom because so did sweet fancy moses and thought it'd be nice for some reason, but didn't want to take my real camera into the wet shower so... it didn't really turn out. Oh, well...)

The fabric is just a two-way stretch jersey. I loved the teal color and knew I had to use it. The dress is really nothing too special -- I'm just glad I got the sleeves the same length and don't have holes in my underarms and whatnot Smiley

Thanks for looking!

5  Re: Harley Quinn Comic Shoes! in Shoes: Completed Projects by Cheiri on: May 12, 2010 06:01:30 PM
Thanks, SoCraftyTal! I'm not sure exactly what the material of the ballet flats were when I first started - on the inside of the shoe it says "man-made material", and it felt kind of like a vinyl. To apply, I cut the comics out and then applied a little outdoor mod podge to the area I was going to stick it to, put the comic on, and brushed some more on around the edges. I repeated this for the whole shoe, then put on about three thick layers of mod podge and let it dry for 72 hours.

Here, I have before & WIP shots:

Thank you, dropoffradar! I agree, I love love love her to death <3

6  Harley Quinn Comic Shoes! in Shoes: Completed Projects by Cheiri on: May 12, 2010 05:39:45 PM
Done with my Harley Quinn shoes! <333 Harley is a comic book character from the Batman Universe, and while I could go on and on about her for days, for my purposes here she can be simply described as "The Joker's Girlfriend". Smiley

Action shot! (It's really difficult to take pictures of your own feet without looking huge...)

Both shoes together:

Left shoe (I love how it says "Harley"):

Right shoe (I really liked the HAHA's behind her on the toe!):

Inner parts of the outer shoe:

So, that's it! Comments/Crit are loved!

7  33 Differently Decorated Gingerbreads!- Includes Joker, Jack Skellington + more! in Dessert by Cheiri on: December 16, 2009 05:26:29 PM
AKA, if I see another cookie I'm gonna scream.

Hahaha, sooo... these were a lot of fun. (And they're vegan, too!)

I made them to bring to class for a project on the Christmas holiday. But me being my silly self, I just had to bring in food, too - and make each cookie as unique as people are!

Some of them are pretty sloppy because my hands hurt so much, and after hours of cutting the sticky dough and baking and throwing out a batch because they burned.... I was pretty tired.

Hehe, which one's your favorite?  Grin

Okay, photo time! Smiley I put it up on Ravelry, too. Smiley

(This is more of a size reference)

Thank you again for the beautiful pattern!

9  BATMOLE! :D in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Cheiri on: November 08, 2009 07:50:26 PM

So my teacher gave us a mole pattern, and said we could make one (decorating it however we like) for extra credit.

Anyone knowing me knows I would make mine Batman related Cheesy

And thus, Batmole was born! (Hastily hand-sewn the class before he was due - Talk about last minute!)

Hope you like 'im as much as I do Smiley

10  Peace, Love, Bracelets. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Cheiri on: October 04, 2009 12:18:06 PM

I love rainbows, bracelets and Mother Earth. So, I made a few pieces of jewelry over the past few days to keep my mind off of things and this was the result. They're all made of either glass or natural materials. The ring is just a little too big for my fingers, though, but other than that I'm really pleased!

Blue Daisy Chain

Three Strand Rainbows

Hemp Shell

Regular Hemp
