21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Inchie Wallet on: April 18, 2009 05:43:07 PM
So I participated in the last round of the inchie exchange and had some cool inchies to start my collection. Now I've got a bunch of inchies and I don't know what to do with them.  I wanted to make something useful with them that I can use most of the time.  I made a extra large folio wallet with an inchie cover!

I found this cool Heatnbond Vinyl that rules! and I used it to adhere and protect the inchies on the cover.  Then I winged the inside.  There are places for credit cards, notes, money, etc.

I would do a number of things differently on the next one but I love it just the same!

Here is the link to the Inchie Exchange Swap Gallery Round 2 that I participated in for those of you interested in what inchies are.
22  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Ninja Veg Gang on: April 10, 2009 04:40:43 PM
As part of the One Tiny Thing round 21 there was a discussion of combining themes.  Along the way someone said they didn't know how you could combine ninjas and eggplants. Of course an eggplant ninja.  So I made him and his ninja vegetable gang.

A special shout out to the OTT21 crafters.

They can be very scary sneaking up on you on a hot summer night in a vegetable garden.

I want to make another vegetable for the gang but I'm trying to steer clear of the tomato.  Its sorta been done with Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, not to mention that a tomato isn't really a vegetable at all.  So I caved on the tomato, though I didn't really come up with that pattern myself.  I modified LadyLinoleum's psychotic tomato pattern.

**Shout out to LadyLinoleum's patterns!  Love her mind.**

I'm thinking of writing up the patterns minus the tomato, what do you think?
23  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A Muppet Wallet on: April 06, 2009 07:42:24 PM
Mr. Orange said, when will you make something for me?  How about one of those saweeet wallets with the Swedish Chef (Mr. Orange is a chef), Animal and Beaker?

Now that Mr. Orange has thrown down the gauntlet I had to make one, just to see if I could.

Here is the outside:

Inside with Beaker:

Mr. Orange specifically said, no change purse inside my manly wallet. So Beaker is another pocket.  You can kinda see the aspirin sticking out.

I'm not convinced I like it as much as the first.  Mr.Orange thinks it's great though.  That's what really matters.

Now, I found some number fabric and you know that the Count was in there!  I'll have to make another wallet...
24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / One Tiny Sesame Street Wallet on: March 28, 2009 10:52:45 AM
I made this for saltandpepper in OTT 21.  Her theme was Sesame Street and she said her favorite was Bert.  Well, inspiration hit and this is the outcome.

The outside:

The front:

The back:

The inside with change purse (inside Cookie Monster's belly), keychain and credit card/ID pockets.

Keychain off, the back side says "C is for Cookie"

Cookie with his "mouth open"

This was a great project, I made it up as I went along. The characters are pieced from my sadly huge stash of quilt fabric, fused and stitched then outlined with permanent pen.  Cookie Monster was actually an after thought but I really like how he turned out.

I nearly bust waiting for it to make it to its final home!

25  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Marisol - Flamenco Poppet on: March 15, 2009 01:59:03 PM
Now that Eliea has received and posted her, I wanted to share Marisol, the flamenco dancing poppet.  I made her for the Love My Poppet swap. She decided to be a flamenco dance before she was even put together so I researched traditional costume and this is my attempt.

close up

another pic of her dress -- those ruffles took forever, about 7 tiny circles hemmed and stitched together then to the hem of her dress.

Hope you like her, she's my 3rd poppet and I'm quite pleased with her.
26  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Christening Gown from Wedding Gown on: October 27, 2008 07:48:11 PM
I finished this tonight.  I made this christening gown from a wedding dress.  The gown is simple satin with ribbon roses. The jacket is from the same satin.

I think it came out quite nicely!

Sorry no action shot since its not for my child.  I'll update if I get photos.
27  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Robotroyshka on: September 23, 2008 06:13:45 PM
Not sure what happened to the original post!  I'm modifying.

I angeled for Kitten Wrangler in the latest OTT swap.  We picked 5 themes and crafted one tiny thing (under 4 inches) for one of the themes.

I picked two of Kitten's themes, Robots and Martroyshka (nesting dolls) and combined them for Robotroyshka!

I started with Ana Paula Rimoli's nesting dolls pattern and lept off from there.  (She has great patterns on etsy, Anapaulaoli).

If you want to see more photos check out the swap gallery here:

I think Kitten Wrangler liked them!

28  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Attack of the Killer Tomato (a really cute one!) on: September 19, 2008 01:54:03 PM
So I made this Killer Tomato for a friend that recently saw the movie and has developed a new obsession.  (you know who you are!)
Being the natural codependent that I am, I had to feed that obsession with this little cutie. Now that I know she received I can share.

(He immediately went for the knife drawer, note the paring knife)

I also heard that on his trip to his new home he stopped off to take care of some homicidal urges...  I haven't seen anything in the News yet, so he must have taken out something small and unnoticeable.

I used this pattern and modified the eyeballs to fit.

29  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Mariana the Poppet for RosieGarden on: September 12, 2008 06:38:39 PM
As part of the Make Me a New Friend Swap I made my first poppet for RosieGarden.  I am totally thrilled with the way she came out and now that Rosie received her I can post photos here.

Her name is Mariana, she's a water sprite. I made two dresses and a shrug sweater for her.  I also made a "matching" fish necklace for Rosie to go with her.

Here is her close up with shrug

her fairy dress

I enjoyed making her so much I'm working on the next three!
30  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 30 ENTRIES / GPS Cozy with Attitude on: September 02, 2008 06:18:13 PM
DH asked for a yellow cozy for his GPS to match his yellow truck.  (He is inordinately proud of that truck.)  Of course the cozy needed to be more than a simple carrying case, the GPS had to work while wearing said cozy.
I added the attitude and here is my entry:
You are Here

I Pity Da Fool, good ol' Mr. T attitude

Just in Case My Wife Isn't with Me

back with "vents" for speakers

Hubby loves the cozy, even with the attitude!
