23  Cute and Quick Lil Phone Cosy with Built-in in Button Loop and Strap in Knitting: Completed Projects by Craftineer on: February 19, 2009 08:47:23 AM
I got a new touch screen phone that was a bit bigger than my previous phone, so I had to make a new cosy for it.
It's done in very basic rib knit, but this is just the 2nd time I knit in the round using double pointed kneedles....so I'm very happy with it.
Here it is hanging from the side of my purse:

Here's another pic showing the button loop and strap I did as part of binding off the last row.

Thanks for looking!

24  Linen Lunch Tote, Other Assorted Cozies & 2 Lil Birds (lotsa pics) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Craftineer on: February 19, 2009 07:59:39 AM
This year I want to make all my gifts. I think this makes the gift more personal, unique and of course economical Grin, since I will use fabric/yarn/etc from my stash. I made all of the items here as a birthday gift for one of my best friends.

I used some great tutes posted by you all... Thanks!
Using Queenofdiys fabric grocery bags tute https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=177482.0
I sewed a linen and cotton lunch tote with a lil inside pocket:

Here's another picture showing the size:

I didn't think that was enough for a Birthday Gift, so I made a tissue cosy, a tampon/pads cosy ....and so not everything is all practical, 2 lil birds.

Here another picture:

I usedPjherbert's tissue cosy tute here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=215629.0
The birds are from a pattern here:  www.spoolsewing.com/blog/
And I just made up the tampon/pads cosy.
I like how it came out, so I will definitely make another one for me.

And finally, a close up of one of the birdies : )

Thanks for looking!

26  My Thick & (Not so) Quick Scarf and Hat Set in Knitting: Completed Projects by Craftineer on: February 04, 2009 11:04:51 AM
A mere 6 wks into winter already, I finally finished a scarf and hat set for me.

Yesterday as it was snowing all day, I got to wear my toasty knits and feel ever so proud.  Gone are the days where I preferred to go without rather than wear "old knits" or worse...(whisper)... store bought!

I used 2 balls of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Sky Blue.
I used size 13 straight needles for the scarf and size 10.5 double pointed for the hat.

Here's the scarf. It's about 5 in.(16 st) wide  and 65 in. long without the fringe. Made my own pattern since I wanted it to be double sided and narrow. Also this picture shows its true color the best.

The hat is inspired by Metaphysical_muses Hat over here:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=197572.0
I changed the pattern on the band so it would match the scarf.

And for fun, here's an action shot of me out in the elements : )

Yeah, I still haven't decided where it's best to wear the button flap...hee.

Thanks for looking!

27  Sophia's Birthday Gift, Molly Bunny in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Craftineer on: January 30, 2009 08:47:01 AM
Finally posting the bunny I made using rheatheylia's Lavender Bunny pattern! I really enjoyed making this, thank you rheatheylia!
Here's the original post:

This is the only picture I have of the bunny, since it was a birthday gift for my friend's daughter. I used one skein of Bernat Soft Bucle yarn in the Pink & Brown shade with a bit of another all pink yarn to make contrasting "foot pads", nose, a neck bow and the tail.

Also, since the bunny is so cute and a gift, I had to do a birth certificate as well.... as that's how she became Molly Bunny. I made this doc in MS Word, printed it out, filled in the data, rolled it up and tied it with a bow.

Im doing another in Camo green and orange yarn.....with plans to do one more.
Yeah, just one more.  Cheesy

28  Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Toddler Costume in Halloween Costumes by Craftineer on: January 06, 2009 12:50:07 PM
So yeah, I finally got my pictures together, in one computer, that I can now post the costume I made for my friend's son.
He is 2 1/2 yrs old and super crazy for the Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! show, so she decided way back in sept. that he will dress as Wubbzy for Halloween.

And me thinking I know how to sew costumes, said all, "sure no prob. I'll make it!"

Of course I was sewing all the way until the night of Oct 30...hee!

So it is made of a yellow fleece top with attached hood and matching pants. The face is just felt I cut out and hand stitched on. No pattern to speak of, other than using his own clothes to get the basic shapes, and then tryingto hold the cut out shapes against a squirmy toddler...hee!

Anyhoo, here are the pics

Front shot with the tail all down....and yes I know the ears on the hood were lopsided....I told myself that's what gives it charm, yes charm.

Walking shot. Can't see it but the tail is inserted through a loop at the base of the hood so he can move around without dragging it.

finally, the top as a work in progress.

Thanks for looking!

29  Crochet Xmas Tree Ornaments...Yey! finally done! in Winter Holidays by Craftineer on: January 05, 2009 09:23:13 PM
Here is one of the ornaments I made for an exchange.  It's a crochet tree with sewed on beads, some bells at the top and felt backing.
Here's a pic of the ornament in a tin box ready to be packed up and shipped out.

and here's a close up on the beads(aka mini ornaments on the tree)

I used regular embrodery thread and a size 1 steel hook, and kinda made it up as I went along.
