1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Mr. and Mrs. Claus. on: December 22, 2008 08:35:33 PM
How cute!  Great job on the mini glasses.  They remind me of the old-time Santa and Mrs. Claus decorations my grandmother has.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Instructions! on: December 22, 2008 08:31:14 PM
Alright, here are the instructions.  I found this craft online by the way.  It is not my own.  I had to use paper but I hope you get the idea.

1 dish towel
1 dishcloth
1 potholder (square or round works best)

Fanfold the dish towel lengthwise (A).

Fold it in half (B) and tie off about 2-3 inches from the fold to form the head (C).

Fanfold the potholder (D) and tie it in the middle.  This will form the wings (E).

Fanfold the dishcloth (F).  Tie off each end about 1 inch in to form the hands (G).

Lay the dischcloth atop the potholder (H) and use more ribbon to tie the two pieces together (I).

Wrap the arms around the dishtowel just below where you tied off the head and tie the hands together (J).

Attach a piece of ribbon at the back to form the hanging loop (K).

Attach the Kitchen Angel poem (I usually tie it between the hands) or anything you wish to have your Angel hold.

I am your Kitchen Angel
Ill watch over all you do,
Baking all those goodies
And snitching one or two!

And if you ever tire of me,
Or some help is what your wish is,
Just untie my little ribbons
And Ill help you with the dishes!

And you're done!

Thanks for all the great feedback!  Cheesy
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Kitchen Angels for Christmas (hanging dolls made from towels) -- Now w/ Tutorial on: December 21, 2008 03:28:47 PM
I had previously made one of these for my mom for Mother's Day and I've made 6 more for Christmas gifts to various family members.  (My grandmother lives with us so that is why hers has a bell... no point in having two Kitchen Angels hanging on our kitchen wall!)

If anyone is interested in the instructions, just let me know!

I love your idea. Very ingenious, and they're super cute.  Smiley

Thank you.
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Christmas Gift Tags/Cards made from recycled earrings (now with glitter!) on: December 17, 2008 11:42:50 PM
I figured I'd post this in the Reconstructed board since my main goal was recycling.

I'm saving my money up for my first car so I didn't want to spend a lot of cash on things like cards or gift tags this year.  So I went through some old drawers and found some bits & bobs.  There were a bunch of old holiday-themed plastic earrings my mom used to have me wear when I was little and I figured they might make some cool cards or gift tags, so I picked them out, pulled out the hooks, and glued 'em down to good 'ol construction paper.

They're not the most professional-looking gift tags in the world, but I don't mind.  At least I know they're unique!

EDIT:  I added some glitter paint and gold ribbon so now I'm happier with them.

This is a really fantastic version. I love how you included the baby porcupine on the back.

Genius! I've never seen a bag strap like that before, ever. You did a great job with the colors and placement.
I really dig the pins and other decor on the front, too.

So, you literally sewed the buttons through pierced holes?

Owls are an addiction of mine but that school-themed dress is so sweet!!
