1961  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Viking Emerald 116 vs. Singer Curvy 8763 on: September 07, 2010 09:53:16 AM
I just got an Emerald 183 too, and I'm so excited about it! The lady at the store said that the Singers were good machines too, but the computer parts aren't as nice (ie, they wear out sooner and it's too expensive to replace them). I went with the Emerald for a little future security.

1964  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Re: Cephalopod Swap REPLACEMENT partner needed on: September 06, 2010 02:26:49 PM
I'd love to! I just finished crafting for my partner and it was so fun.
1965  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Run Away With the Circus! *angel found* thanks! on: September 02, 2010 10:08:55 PM
amymisha needs a great replacement partner since her original partner cannot complete the swap! I need someone to craft a circus-themed package of six points.

NOTE: Preference will be given to people who would be able to use the things she has already crafted (things for a fire performer, like wick covers), though please do apply even if you couldn't use those types of things. I'm going to leave the call open all weekend and give the slot to the crafter who best fits the bill; this is not first come first serve! (If I can do that... can I do that?)

Here's an extract from her questionnaire to let you know what she's interested in:

What skills have you practiced? I do mostly hooping, from regular hooping to twins (just learning, to led and fire. I also am starting to learn fire fans. I am going to be restarting bellydancing soon. I took a class at Wildfire in contact juggling but I am not very good, also fleshing
What crafts do you do or would you be willing to try? sewing, embroidery, bath and body stuff (including a killer burn balm that my friends get a steady supply of!)
Name a few things that you would love to receive in this swap: Maybe some graduated eating torches? Like itty bitty baby ones, working their way up to bigger? Hoop covers for my colapsible hoops, wick covers, surprises!

amymisha is located in the USA.

My new board for the week is polyclay! I can't post it until a swap completes, though. Do any of you have experience sealing sculpy? I didn't have professional sealer, so I just used clear nail polish. Do you think that will hold up?
