I received half of my claim from goddessgarb, the wall art part! It's an easy size to frame since it didn't come with one, and I really love the colors. It reminds me of the shifting patterns of sunlight through water. Smiley

Thanks again ggarb, and I can't wait for the second half!

Anubisheart, glad you're excited to swap! But you need to have posted 15 times on craftster to join, so go out and comment on some projects or post some of your own, and we'll be all clear! Cheesy

lafemmefatale, I'd love it if you could get a picture of the kind of vintage fabrics you're offering - I want to claim some fabric this round, but I'm kind of picky over patterns.

ooo I volunteer! as long as it's ok that I'm currently in five swaps - one of them is still in sign ups though, the other's nearly done, and another is just for supplies. I'd love to do this!
1816  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Completed Projects / Re: Woven scrap dotees on: November 05, 2010 01:26:46 PM
Thank you everyone!

Love it, love it, love it! The dotees are wonderful, and I love the look the weaving gave to them. I'm DEFINITELY going to have to try this on my own. Just a question, though. The string you weave your scraps in between, how do you take it off once you're done? Is there some kind of "finishing" technique you have to do so that your finished piece won't unravel? Sorry, this is probably a basic weaving question, but I've never done it before, so I wouldn't know.

I used thread as my base, taping the free ends to the underside of the box. When I finished weaving all the fabric scraps in, I just pulled up the thread loops up out of their notches, then sewed the free ends through the fabric a few times at the corner before knotting it. There's probably a better way to do this, but I'm a total beginner too!

Oh geeze I thought the idea thread was the discussion thread, so I thought I had already posted there - sorry!

We should do a naughty dotee round!

That. Is an amazing idea.
