1  Re: One Tiny Glee Thing GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by princess*julio on: September 09, 2011 10:52:43 PM
Okay, here's what I received from adelestlg! Smiley

She sent me a decorated Altoids tin filled with Glee goodies! Plus a pincushion and a card with the lovely Glee guys on it. Here's everything together:

There's a necklace, a couple of sweater clips (cute!), Rachel-esque pins and a hair clip, a friendship bracelet (which I'm now wearing Wink), a dangly bead thingy (that I think might have accidentally come off of one of the items?), and of course some stars.

And here's a couple of shots of the tin itself:

Thanks a bunch, adelestlg! Grin

I'm glad you like it, kartiana! Grin I definitely recommend watching Ponyo. It's sooo cute and the animation (especially the parts underwater) is just gorgeous. Not kidding, I probably said the word "adorable" a million times during the movie to my mom when we saw it in the theater. Cheesy

And now to the surprise I found in my mailbox today! Thanks blupaisan!

She did a sasquatch card based on my cryptozoology theme. I love it, and I'm amazed by the detail.

3  Disney themed ATCs in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by princess*julio on: January 24, 2010 12:01:36 AM
I've finally gotten around to trying making ATCs, and these are my first ones. They're all from Disney animated movies because seeing The Princess and the Frog suddenly made me want to re-watch all my old favorites. I had forgotten how wonderful and smart and fun they are! Anyway, here are my very first ATCs of some of my favorite characters.

Mulan, in the outfit she wears at the end. I love that part because she gets to fight and be a badass in general, while still being a girl. xD I loved this movie so much as a kid.

Cinderella and her mouse friends, Jaq and Gus. I had a phase when I was really young where I wanted to watch this movie over and over. I still think it's amazing, really charming and funny and sweet.

Finally, Jasmine and Aladdin! These are the clothes they are wearing at the very end of the movie, although they're not totally accurate. (This movie was also really rewarding to re-watch now that I'm a little older, I know as a kid a lot of the references went straight over my head.)

All of these are drawn with pen and colored pencil. I'm doing drawn ATCs first because drawing is one of the things I'm most comfortable with, but I want to try other techniques in the future. I'd definitely like to start trading ATCs soon, too, once I get going.

This Disney "series" will probably continue, as there are so many characters/movies that I want to draw. I know I have to do one of Tiana, and maybe some other characters from PatF, because I was totally blown away by the movie. (I've been listening to the soundtrack nonstop since I saw it; the score is beautiful!) And of course, there is a ton of material in the Disney animated canon to work with, so it should keep me pretty busy. Wink

4  A Mini Me-bear (first post and first plush!) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by princess*julio on: June 19, 2008 08:56:44 PM
This plushie was sort of an experiment, I made the template and designs for a set of plushies I've been planning to make and wanted to test everything out. It's supposed to look like me... if I were a purple bear. Cheesy

Anyway, she was really fun to make! As I'm a beginner to sewing, and in the middle of my first clothing project, it was so refreshing to be able to sew something like this that I could design myself and have it work out so smoothly. Although the puff paints were a bit problematic - they ended up looking kinda messy. Angry
About halfway through, my sister offered to help, so all the credit for the cute little tail and the neater half of the closing stitches goes to her. Grin
Oh, and hopefully you can tell that the silver things are headphones... my mom thought they were chest-plates. Roll Eyes It's rather discouraging when I can't even be my own worst critic.
