102  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Woven Fused Platic Bags...now what? on: October 14, 2008 11:56:25 AM
if you made another one the same and sewed them together it could be like a big crinkly cushion cover. I also haven't got enough ideas of what to actually do with fused plastic, it never comes out quite the right consistency, but making it is so fun! I hadn't thought to weave it first...maybe i should try that...

like smittenheart's suggestion...don't know how easy it would be though!

decoupage them! like poe poe says! they'd look really cute with comic book characters, or your son's favourite cartoon or something. there are loads of posts on craftster of decoupaged shoes. kind of like these, https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=227826.0, but, obviously, for boys. you have to post them when you are done, whatever you decide to do with them - they are so cute, I'm sure they'll look great!

how thick is the plastic? and are they interesting colours? if they are thick and colourful then you could try cutting them up into strips or small pieces and melting them, to make bowls or something, a bit like these:
it may not work... but you could try!

do you mean the plastic ones? hmm well if you know any kids who go to the seaside then you can make little fishing nets...but i guess that wouldnt use up very many nets! you could try fusing them with plastic bags,
if they're nice colours it could make pretty patterns, not sure if it would work but fusing plastic is so much fun! it might be worth trying.

I was inspired by a box of junk in our house of stuff that was here when we moved in...I thought the taps were beautiful. I used a tiny lightbulb from a doll's house lighting kit, tissue paper, pva and acrylic paint for the "drip" shade, card and an old frame for the back. It is battery powered. Sorry for the terrible pictures, I took them right after I finished it and intended to take better ones, but my cat peed on it so it is ruined for ever now. This is my first post so apologies if I do something wrong!
