1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Colorful Churn Dash Baby Quilts on: March 02, 2009 05:06:07 PM
These look great - modern colors with an old-fashioned block style. And I think the bias binding looks fine; I've done that on baby quilts too! I've done elaborate machine quilting on baby quilts and then found the parents using the quilt as a doggie bed or something - I'm obviously a dog lover LOL - but I vowed to not spend that much time on quilted gifts unless I am SURE the person will understand the effort. Yours are just right - lucky friend in so many ways!
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Here Be Dragons on: January 06, 2009 10:41:54 PM
Add me to the list of admirers and pattern purchasers!
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: The Nativity--beautiful wall hanging! on: December 29, 2008 10:55:18 AM
Love it and the other one you linked to as well. You could make fabulous gift bags with the ornament fabric - it's an improbable but quirkily attractive backing for this quilt!
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Caroling and Skiing and Sledding--What Fun! on: December 29, 2008 10:51:23 AM
Wonderful idea and execution - inspiring for other quiltmakers.
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Collage Works: Samurai & Ballerina on: December 21, 2008 08:58:43 PM
These are lovely! I'm a collage-novice so this may be a simple question but did you do something to outline the various parts of the samurai collage? It's as if there is a thin lighter line around each element.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: crazy new magpie scarf...unexpected productivity, yay! on: December 21, 2008 08:46:08 PM
I agree that the black really works - makes the colors pop! It's so cold in Minnesota that my cold-lovin' dog just zips out to do her "business" then zips back in. Brrrrr! Shocked Time to knit/crochet!
7  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 33 ENTRIES / Re: Wren's Name Book on: December 04, 2008 06:06:57 AM
I'm also inspired to make one, for my grandson. I like how big the pages are and your details are so imaginative.
8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Giant Plush Axolotl... the Mexican water monster... Cute and cuddly version! on: November 22, 2008 10:41:33 PM
Oh cute!!! I recognized the critter only because of Craftster. In February, magic otter posted this crochet pattern for an axolotl and I've loved them ever since! Thanks for sharing the plushy version.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Pattern/style suggestions for pants for special needs adult? on: November 18, 2008 12:05:45 PM
I used to make and alter clothes for special needs adults. What I'd remember is that folks who are always sitting need pants that are disproportionately long from the back waist to the back hem. Does that make sense? Pants patterns already build in a curve for our butts but this is more than that and needs to extend the length of the leg as well. And the pants front from waist to crotch can be cut down to reduce bulk when the person doesn't stand.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Lumberjack Love - Lots of pics on: November 16, 2008 06:30:00 PM
Hi, Love your hats! I come from a family of lumberjacks; they love those hats. I live in Minn. too; is the wool place you refer to in Bemidji?
