1  Re: Zero Waste Frugal RRR Craftalong in Craftalongs by Riechan on: August 09, 2019 02:43:20 PM
I made a tawashi!
This is the most difficult thing I have ever made crochet wise. I have been a beginnerlevel crochet since ... 10 years or so?
And I made a mistake, because you can see in the picture, it has a little knob like thingie which can be used as a handle, but shouldn't be there. Oh well  Roll Eyes

I received from jemimah! And I was spoiled!
She claimed me for a placemat to use when eating at my desk at work!
I received not one, but two!
The first one, totally my colours and love the shape!

And the second one, already in action Cheesy
This one features birds! Where do you get these lovely fabrics from?

Thank you so much!!

That Moomin candle is so cute!

I have time to post the pics Cheesy
They were wrapped like this, in old photographs, Japan themed

Apparently you are missing the book one too Cheesy I forgot about that one, and I was the first I made haha.

5  Sloth stamp in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by Riechan on: February 05, 2019 02:58:13 AM

As my partner Bigbangmomma received her package for the OWS 150 swap I can post the stamp I made.
She said she loved sloths and a stamp so that's what I made.
I searched the internet for inspiration and came up with this one.

This is one of the more difficult stamps I made so as you can see I am not experienced Cheesy
Also, while cutting this, I gave myself a new scar!
(I have made lots of models for my architecture studies, never cut myself, I make 1 stamp, ...)

this is the drawing I started with

I was lucky that my bf was cutting wood for a project and made him cut a tiny piece of wood to mount this sloth on.

Hope she likes it Cheesy

okay, so I read everything up to here!
Everyone has been crafting so powerfully Cheesy
And i'm joining in!

We have bought a piece of land to build our house on (I don't know how to properly say this in English but it's a tiny tiny piece of land Cheesy) And since it will be a wooden house (Belgian's like to build with bricks) it's going to be there faster than I can craft haha but I want to destash (and konmari Cheesy) so I don't have to move stuff I probably am not going to use...

This is:
- paper
- yarn (I can only crochet really easy things and cannot follow a pattern...)
- fabric
- jewelry making supplies

First up was an 'unpaper'towel Cheesy
I konmaried my towels and gotten a whole lot of free (yes free) fabric for a musical I made costumes for, but I have lots of leftovers so towel + fabric = unpapertowel:

This took me longer than I thought...
But it's great for the environment, no more paper towels (unless it's really gross stuff) so I'm good Smiley

8  Re: Secret Santa-in-July Wishlist Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Riechan on: August 17, 2018 12:23:46 PM
I received my remaining packages! And more than I knew I would get!!

First up is the lovely tag from quaggy saying she was sad she couldn't pick me! I was so grateful when I got this one! It just made me feel not forgotten so thank you! And I love handmade items for Christmas!

Next up I received these wonderful crochet dish cloths:
My Santa wrote the used stitches on the card you see so I can try my hand at them! They won't be as lovely as these! Perfect colours too! They are hanging in sight, brighting up the kitchen!

And my favourites:

Plus I got these extra's. The keychain is hanging with my keys and I'm using the 'to do' bookmark to read a book I was dying to read for a long time!

Next up from another secret santa!
She made two fruit holding bags (which were already used when going to the market and are lying in the car, so no picture) and a guinea pig snuggy!
It came in pristine shape, the hairs are a decorative touch from Toedels, seen modeling the bag. Also look at those tiny feet on the bag! So cute!

I tried to get them both in the bag but it's a little bit crowded with big butt Momo and tiny Toedels. No worries Santa, they never lie somewhere together.

Thank you very much this will be loved very much by our two little monsters.

The Last package was a total surprise!
I got a lovely card, accompanied by two TM patches!!! These are the first I ever receive and they are marvelous!

I really liked your decision for the watermelon one, that colours speaks watermelon to me too! (If you want a song stuck into your head, youtube 'watermelon song')

You see the square on the bottom? It was packaged with this viewable and I was like: hm that's quite a weird rainbow? Then I opened the package and it was this on the other side! Isn't it just gorgeous!!!

I wish my TM patches would look like a 10th of this work and I'd be happy!

Thank you so much my Secret Santa's! I had so much fun receiving and giving!
I hope my packages are received soon too and the receivers are happy!

9  Re: October, November, December 2015 Birthday Swap! Gallery and Discussion in The Swap Gallery by Riechan on: November 29, 2015 06:55:16 AM
okay! Mobile phone pictures it is!

Package from Alwaysinmyroom
She claimed me for a scarf!
When I opened the package I found a bunch of little and big gifts wrapped in lovely paper!
In her note she said she had some yarn left, so she made me a hat. Like that!
Here are the main players: the scarf and the hat.

The yarn is so soft, and the colour is just perfect!!! Burgundy/red/purple is my most favourite colour ever!! And now I have the perfect set to go with my coats (which are almost all black Cheesy perfect colour combination)

I'm only starting out with crochet and only can do the easy ones. Just look at these wonderful stitches!! I'm so in awe Cheesy

Here it is on me!

She said she wasn't sure if the flower was my taste, it certainly is my taste! I just LOVE flowers Cheesy

The extra's

Very sour candy!!! that middle package is dangerous! Alwaysinmyroom said she bought the 3rd one on the list of strongest sour candy. I'm glad she did, I think you can kill someone with the first one! haha Cheesy My boyfriend loves them too Wink

Package from Plaidpineapple

Plaidpineapple claimed me for cloth pads! I got a wonderful pair of lovely waterproof cloth pads where you can insert more if you want! She included two extra inserts as well!
I was so in need of these! And don't you just love the fabric she used! Cheesy Again, I LOVE flowers haha Cheesy
The mini one is adorable too! that checkered fabric is awesome!

Close up!

Thank you both for the wonderful packages and the lovely birthday wishes! You guys made my November month! Cheesy

10  Halloween party: decorations and food in Halloween Decor and Parties by Riechan on: November 02, 2015 06:43:48 AM
Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I posted a project but I really wanted to post this one!
Because my boyfriend's birthday is on the 30th of October and mine on the 9th of November,
we decided it would be cool to organize a Halloweeny Birthday party! And So we did!

I went all over the internet and gathered ideas that I liked (and asked my bf if he liked them too)
This is what we went for.
The bats are all hand cut and painted (because I ran out of black spray paint...) I tried to stick them on the wall as if they are flying towards you from the witches house. Did that work? They are all cereal box, cake box cardboard Cheesy Much easier to cut with scissors than the thicker ones.

Because we just moved in, we had a lot of left over cardboard boxes. The letters BOO are drawn and cut out of cardboard, then spray painted with black paint. I added spiderwebb to the painting and made 4 spooky candle holders.

These are made from mason jar type jars haha Cheesy I spray painted the inside with white paint and draw a halloween scene on the outside. I bought a few more of these from the thrift store (only 0.50) for Christmas decorations!

These are two tall drinking glasses which I put some transparent paper onto, drew faces and then put hot glue on the outside. Painted it black and done!

I'm a harry potter fan so when I saw our mirror, I went "wait a minute..."

Random spider webs

Onto the Food
First up are our Balls of dirt! (or as my bf read 'Balls of Diet' "those can be scary too") These are oreo plus cream cheese smashed together and shaped into little balls. They look horrible but taste quite good. Very heavy though.

Used Q-tips. I added an instruction to these snacks.
1. Take Q-tip
2. Apply wax
3. Enjoy
haha Cheesy These are marshmallows cut up into little pieces (we don't have mini ones around here) the sticks are white chocolate which makes knispers sounds when you eat it. And the wax is peanut butter.

Creepy rocky road. Ever since the mom of an English friend told me about Rocky Road I had to make it and this was the best occasion to do so!
It has peanut butter, dark and milk chocolate, marshmallows, crushed m&m's and sour worms.

Brains made from rice krispies and pink marshmallows. The red is icing. I bought food colouring but ended up not using it because the marshmallows were pink enough.
It looks gross when making plus my pot was full of marshmallow fluff. (Tip when your cooking pot looks like a disaster. Pour water into it, a little cleaning soap, add a lid and warm it 'till the water starts boiling, your pot will be squeaky clean without you doing anything!)

Chocolate coated apples.
The brown is milk chocolate, the green is white chocolate with food colouring.
These weren't that popular though... haha Cheesy

Then I also made chocolate cake and added some of the green and brown chocolate on top and made a swirley drawing, just because. No picture though...

Then costumes!
I made everyone dress up to fit the Halloween theme and had been asking what my bf wanted to be. He didn't have an idea so zombie it was! This is done on last minute. We took an old white tshirt. I cut it up, tear some holes in it and added green, brown, yellow and red paint. His face is done with a combination of regular make-up and face paint. The scars are made with tacky glue, leaving to dry and then applying on his face with eyelash glue. I added make-up to blend it in, and added lipgloss to give it that shiny look.

Ain't he pretty Cheesy

This glue of his neck wound didn't hold up very well because it was a place that moved very much but this made it even creepier, like he was actually loosing this flesh and rotting.

If you made it to the end of this gigantic post, thank you very very much for reading! I would love to know what you think! I had so much fun doing this as this was the first time I could decorate a place for this holiday! I can't wait for Christmas. Already want to start decorating! Cheesy
