1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Fave band on: June 15, 2016 04:51:15 PM
So my husband and I are total fans of a rock band called La Vela Puerca, they are from Uruguay, and I decided to make him this:

It's all stenciled, the hardest part was to cut the many figures in the arm, but I loved how simple and cool it turned out. He's in love with it

and a detailed picture of the arm

I hope you like it
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / old sports t shirt, but I loved how it turned out on: June 15, 2016 04:46:00 PM

I made this t shirt for my halfbrother's half brother... I call him my 1/4 brother, he's a hockey player and, back then, when I gave this to him, he was a huge Ovechkin's fan.

It's stenciled, It was hard to get the transition from blue to black but I loved to play with the colors and the layers! I had much fun with this t shirt! And the best part, he still has it.

So here's the mandatory action shot.

What do you think?
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / old projects... now published on: June 15, 2016 04:39:58 PM
I went MIA for about two years, lots of crazy things went by and I just couldnt find the time to craft, needless to say it was impossible to post...

so I'm coming back to post all the stuff I didnt post in two years.

This is a crocodile scarf I knitted for a cold winter, I think it's very cute, but doesnt loose her glam hehe!

The pattern is a very easy squared knit and purl with ocasional increases and decreases to create the shape

Action shot

I hope you like it.

Also, as part of a swap, I knitted an owl hat and a fox scarf

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Camus, guardian of Aquarius (Saint Seiya) poppet on: February 11, 2012 07:04:19 PM
I made this for boyfriend, as he is such a fan of saint seiya, and he was born in february, so I made him an aquarius gold saint for his birthday. (the picture is the original one, just for comparision, i know it's not the same... but was the best i could, i'm planning on kidnapping him to make him boots and the cape)

It took me about a month to do, but was totally worth it. His robes were a total pain to make!!! i made the body first and then decided to make another and quilt it (mistake!!!) besides... the golden fabric was sooo thin that kept breaking all the time (until I remembered a magic word.... INTERFACE!!!)

Hands are poseable, but decided to give him as a picture i saw.

and this is how he got it (my sister made a flower for him and decided to put it in his hand)

C & c welcome!!

8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My tennis court quilt on: October 10, 2010 12:46:13 PM
Hi everyone!!!

My boyfriend is a tennis addict! he plays, he coaches, he watches... he dreams tennis!!! And he lives in a freaking cold appartment, so he had been asking me for something to keep him warm while he watches tv, and after 4 years of asking.... (okay i'm a bit slow) i made this for him:

It's a tennis court with 2 of his favourite moves while playing (i took pictures of him playing and then made them on fabric) and 2 racquets which actually have strings, I tried to make them the more correctly possible but it was hard. I even asked him to teach me how to string. So I believe it turned out okay

Center shot

Racquet close up

Me quilting it while the dogs were fighting to keep it (it was the closest I've felt to having children)
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My mambo dancer poppet on: October 09, 2010 11:21:17 AM
On september 15 we mexicans celebrated the bicentennial of mexican Independence. We had a huuuge celebration, which included a parade (kind of a carnival but in a mexican way). I volunteered to participate in there. We started rehearsing on january and it was one of the best things that has happened to me.

In the beginning we were over 70 000 people who wanted to participate, after interviews, castings and stuff, only 7500 were chosen.

I was chosen as a Mambo dancer, actually I was one of the main dancers (the ones that were dancing next to really famous mexican artists). The day of the event, everything came out perfectly, (despite the fact that we were up from 5 am to 3 am next day) and in the end we were allowed to take our costumes home with us.

These were our costumes, I loved them but I knew I'd never wear those again so....

I made myself a poppet using only the things we used in the parade.

The body is made out of the vest we wore before we got our costumes (not the best fabric for puppets but has a special meaning to me) and the costume is a replica of mine. She has white hair because we were going to wear white wigs.
the vest:

the costume (next to other costumes):

Last week, mexico's president gave us a diploma and thanked us for participating, and I took her to the event. Everyone was in love with her, even the director of the event was thrilled!!!

Hope you like her as much as I do

And as a random picture (my fave picture) during the celebrations, fireworks made the mexican flag in Mexico's main hall.

Here are more pictures if you want to see them (found them in an american newspage) http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/09/mexicos_bicentennial.html?s_campaign=8315. If you read it, just let me clarify that WE ARE NOT HAVING A BRUTAL NATIONWIDE DRUG WAR  (newspapers tend to overreact about minimal stuff) things are pretty peaceful in here. And the government didnt spend much because we all volunteered and most of the things were donated.
