81  Re: Tea Towel Tour Gallery - As seen on TTTV in The Swap Gallery by Zombie_Queen on: September 08, 2009 12:39:31 PM
So, I just sent out ThirdMargaret's towel. She had no theme. But she likes all things Halloween, tattoos and she also mentioned that she's like each piece to be a piece of each stitcher. Soooooooooo.... I decided what could be better than a stitched rendition of one of my tattoos?! The tattoo design is based on the art of Eric Pigors. Hope you like it, ThirdMargaret Smiley

And here is my tattoo, so you guys have something to compare it to Smiley

I finished my design this morning. Thank you sooo much Rectangle for the tip on the rubbing alcohol. It worked splendidly. The "IV" is barely noticeable. I crayon tinted the bottom half of the letters (my first time). sorry for the cruddy pic quality. My camera died and I had to use my cell. The colors are much more vibrant in person. I used a bright green and rich purple. I free handed it based on Jenny Hart's tattoo alphabet.

83  Hawaiian themed pillowcase in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Zombie_Queen on: August 28, 2009 07:02:30 PM
I made this pillow for my DH's birthday. He's away from home a lot and I wanted to make him something to remind him of me and home Smiley <3
Please excuse the wrinkles and cruddy pic quality. I have a prehistoric aged digital camera.

84  Hawaiian/nautical goodness :) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Zombie_Queen on: August 03, 2009 04:26:55 PM
This is one of the first purses I've ever made. It's more of a tote. I use it to store all my embroidery stuff. There's one big pocket in front and another. REALLY simple design. I'm not much good at sewing Smiley

outside pocket

Thanks for looking Smiley

85  Monsters and zombies!!! :) in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Zombie_Queen on: August 03, 2009 04:22:01 PM
I did a couple tank tops for my husband's birthday. We're both big horror fans. So, I did one monster themed and the other zombie themed Smiley This was my first time embroidering on such stretchy material. I used t-shirt stabilizer and some transfer paper on the black one.
I embroidered the front bottom corners

Close ups

And I also did some bats between the shoulder blades

And for the other tank I just did a back design.

Thanks for looking Smiley

87  Tyler Florence eat your heart out!!!! in Dessert by Zombie_Queen on: July 10, 2009 08:31:19 PM
*This is my first posting. Sorry for the ucky photo quality. Enjoy and thanks for taking a look!!!*
Tonight we made a Tyler Florence "Ultimates" inspired meal. The main was scallops wrapped in prosciutto and apples pan fried in sage infused butter. I have never worked with scallops before. The end result was better than I could have hoped for. Anyways on to the reason for the post!!!! Chocolate mousse!!! So simple!!!! But It absolutely knocked our socks off!!! Here's a picture. (which doesn't do it justice)

I whipped some cream for the top with a touch of sugar and pure vanilla extract. I chopped up the same semi sweet chocolate I used in the mousse for the topping.
