1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Bunny Earmuffs! on: December 15, 2008 08:20:28 PM
Hi everybody! I wanted to share my new project I just finished!

I give you... BUNNY EARMUFFS!

Face closeup:

I think they're pretty cute~! Smiley They keep my ears warm and look nice with my black dresses! $3 earmuffs + $1 furry fabric and $1 bear eyes = my new earmuffs.

I apologize for the pictures being dark, I don't have a camera but I do have my webcam. I can brighten them up if anyone has trouble seeing them.

I hope you like! Cheesy
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Suggestions on: August 28, 2008 05:32:28 PM
I have to teach my classmates how to make something in polymer clay. I'm an Occupational Therapy major and polymer is actually a craft used for therapy. I want something simple but will turn out nice. One girl is doing jewelry. I was thinking maybe little pots made from long snakes that are wrapped around? Any other ideas? Thanks!!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Puffy Strawberry Lolita-esque Skirt on: August 15, 2008 03:38:40 PM
I just finished a skirt! I really like it. Thought I'd share. I'm going to buy a petticoat to make it poofier. That's why the ruffles are a bit wilted. Critiques welcome! Cheesy

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / What to do with a too-small shirt... on: August 04, 2008 04:44:10 PM
I bought a shirt from Korea. Unfortunately, it's a little too tight because you aren't allowed to try clothes on before you buy them. My biggest concern is the sleeves. The sleeves are really really short, but too tight for the little flab on my arm. Sad What can I do to make it fit? I really like it and would like to be able to wear it. Thanks! Smiley

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Updated Skirt - Length suggestions? on: July 03, 2008 03:15:38 PM
I am stuck. I made this skirt out of a goodwill skirt, my old jeans and some denim fabric (which was stretchy and hard to work with Sad). So I have this right now. I think it's too plain and I want to add another layer to it. The length now is weird. Do you think it would be best to add one more layer of the light denim? Would the weight of that denim straighten out the bottom layer I have there now? It wrinkled and doesn't look very good. Sad I got suggestions from another thread about adding some lace, what you do think?

I'm wearing it a bit off center (and I have a shirt on, don't worry! I just lifted it Wink)
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help me beautify this! on: June 21, 2008 05:48:30 PM
I went to Korea and saw this really cool, layered denim skirt. I've started to imitate it by cutting up old jeans. I'm going to make it much longer so it comes down to my ankle. The problem is, it's so boring! I bought some lace, do you think that would spruce it up? Any other ideas? I think if I just keep putting more length on it, it will still be boring. Sad

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / RRRRRuffles! on: June 17, 2008 01:36:51 PM
I really want to make a skirt with ruffles on it, but I don't know how. I couldn't find a tutorial on here and Google hasn't helped me much. Can anyone explain to me how to do it? Smiley
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hippies-esque messenger bag on: May 19, 2008 08:17:25 PM
I was in Goodwill, on the prowl for anything craft-worthy (by the way, has anyone noticed the rise in Goodwill prices?! I mean, some shirts are like $5! You could find NEW shirts for that price nowadays!). Anyway, I found this bag that was a nice size; not too big and not too small. I think it's a diaper bag since there are many pockets for bottles and it says "Baby Goose" on it. Is that spit up on that bag?! Ewww~! But hey, only $2.50. Can't beat the price.

I was wondering around Jo Ann Fabrics looking for fabric for a swap when I found this really cool, tie-dye lookin' fabric! With my snazzy 40% off coupon, it was affordable. I had to have it. While waiting for the cutting table, I noticed this matching fringy stuff that was awesome! So, I had to have that too.

Blah blah blah. I'm babbling. Here's the recon!

(there's a zipper pushing the fringe up, so it looks weird from this angle...)

My stitching was not perfect because I was so paranoid I was going to break my needle! Sad It's happened twice before, stitching thick things, and I only have one left! Comments, critiques and whatnot are appreciated! <3
9  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / My first felting! A guinea pig :D on: May 14, 2008 08:55:34 AM
I thought I'd take a stab (pun!) at needle felting. It's a lot of fun! I recall seeing another girl here who made a guinea pig, and I was inspired. I LOVE guinea pigs. I have had many pet guineas in my lifetime and they all hold a special place in my heart. <3 So, without further ado, my guinea pig, based off my old guinea pig Stosh!

He's a little wonky shaped and has no ears, but isn't he cute? Cheesy
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Father's Day / Brewer dad... any ideas? on: May 11, 2008 12:56:39 PM
My dad really has one main hobby, and that's brewing his own beer. Our basement is like a little laboratory, with tubs and kegs and containers, fermenting hops and airline tubing. I really want to make him something, but I have no idea what! Sad Anyone have any ideas that are brewing or beer related? Cheesy
