22  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Epic blanket for my friend on: June 16, 2012 03:45:47 AM
Ok so I started this blanket when I was pregnant with my youngest. It all came about because she liked the smaller baby version I made for him in blues. So I started making squares for it out of pinks and other soft shades that she asked for. I made just over 200 squares. Then realized that I needed to work out how many I really needed to make a square. So I went with 14 x 14 squares as I already had enough for that. Then my oldest got hospitalized, I went into labor and bam I had 3 kids. So the squares were put on the back burner for a while. I then pulled them out the other day after I finished another baby blanket for my soon to be great nephew. So after about 5 months of work the blanket is done. I have to say this is the longest I've ever worked on one blanket!

He says it is!
23  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Baby's suit for a wedding on: May 27, 2012 04:12:49 PM
So my BIL got married on Sat. The big kids were in the wedding party and I knew they were going to look stylin. Needed to make something for the baby so that he too would look stylin. So I went into my pattern stash and found McCall's 6221. Sure it's a Christening pattern but I though why can't I work it up in other fabrics. After a trip to the fabric store to find some mens suiting material I set to work. I lined the vest part with red to add a little bit of flare and then bought some Elmo robieez and this is what he looked like.

24  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Star Baby Blanket on: April 02, 2012 05:01:41 PM
So my daughter asked me to make a blanket for her new baby brother before he was born. We looked at a few patterns and she picked out a star. I then set to work. Well the older boy got sick and landed in the hospital like he normally does when he gets sick. I worked on it there. However every day we were there he asked me if my tummy was telling me it was time to have the baby. I kept telling him nope. Then one evening around dinner time as I sat working on the blanket my water broke! Needless to say the boy was very excited. I went down to maternity and had the baby. The blanket was  put aside for a while.  I picked it back up about 2 weeks after we came home and finished it off. He's Squishy is at 2 months old showing off his star blanket.

Happy Squishy

and just cause I think he's cute
25  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Coming Home Outfit on: January 17, 2012 04:27:30 PM
Ok so I'm due in 4.5 wks. Having looked every where in town for an outfit to bring the boy home in nothing was jumping at me. So I took a moment and thought, wait I craft I can make something worthy of bringing home the new boy! So I dove into my box of patterns in hopes of finding something that would work and be small enough. After locating a pattern I then had to dive into the stash of fabric. This took much longer then the pattern finding as I had to find JUST what I wanted from the stash.  After a lot of digging I found what I was looking for! Here is the end result.

26  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Owen's Baby Blanket on: January 09, 2012 03:14:32 PM
So I'm due in just over 6 weeks. I have not been able to move much this past week after a tumble down the stairs. So I pulled out some yarn and my hook and made the boy a blanket!

27  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / House warming/birthday gift on: April 07, 2011 09:20:30 AM
So a good friend of mine moved into an appt last mnth with her boyfriend. I told her I would make her a housewarming gift. She had been admiring the baby blankets I make for a long time now. Little did she know I modified the patten to make it big enough for her queen sized bed! This took me about a mnth of crafting with about a wk off in the there for the ami swap! I got it done just in time for her birthday/house warming party tomorrow night. I can't wait to give it to her! I love the giving almost as much as the crafting of gifts. I hope it dosen't show to badly that I had to use two different brands of yarn. I ran out of the one and had to go with the closest I could find. Just about everyone I've asked says they cant' tell so I hope I did a good job!

30  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Heart Scarf on: January 10, 2011 01:11:53 PM
So my friend asked for a scarf. I was told to make what ever I wanted as long as it was pink. So I dove into my stash and found some really soft pink baby yarn. Ok not the best for holding it's shape but nice and soft! This is what I came up with.
