Awesome t-shirt quilt, Quaggy! I've always wanted to make one of those (just have to convince DH to let me steal some of his huge collection of nerdy tees).

Brilliant use of binder rings, T, and impressive stash of washi tape!

I finally did a bit of stash-busting. This basket used up a 100-foot package of clothesline and nearly 8 partial spools of thread, plus a couple other bits and bobs.

Kwality, your Baby Groot is so sweet! What an awesome gift.

This basket was sort of on my list, I went with the easier version to get it done while still busting some of my stash.

23  Pink Ombre Rope Basket in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by tendstowardschaos on: April 05, 2019 06:09:04 AM
It only took a few hours to turn 100 feet of clothesline into this adorable basket.  Shocked

I was stressed out and needed something new and relatively easy to soothe my nerves. I had originally purchased the clothesline to make one of those fabric coil baskets from all of my quilting scraps, but that seemed like way too much work for how much time I had (and my mood).  Roll Eyes

I read quite a few tutorials, but here's one of the best ones I remembered to Pin.

I didn't want just a plain-Jane basket, though, so I decided to dress it up by using colored thread. Somehow, I've managed to accumulate an insane amount of thread...18 years of sewing and what I've inherited from other people. I grabbed 8 spools of pink, in various shades, and started with the darkest (not in the picture because it was already in the machine).

100 feet of 1/4" clothesline 7.5 partial spools of thread, a scrap of leather, and some waxed linen thread later...

This basket (that I don't have a use for yet)! It's about 11" wide and 5.5" tall.

Thanks for looking!

Beautiful paper crafts, CLM! All of the colors and patterns remind me of batik.

Thank you for the challenge prize!

I did finish (half) of a project last night. I'm so stinkin' excited about it, too. My first sock:

It's a craft I've wanted to try for ages, but didn't because knitting needles frustrate me so badly. Then, I found out that there are looms for that. And looms are something I can manage!

I've had this notebook cover laying around, half finished, for ages, left over from my screen-printing attempts. I finished it the other day just to cross it off my (long) list of WIPs. It's a bit sloppy, but it works.

Congrats, CT! That is fantastic! Until my DS2 was born I had my own craft room - it was awesome.

I know I have a ton of WIPs to finish, but I needed to just finish something today. So I pulled out my beads and made the stitch markers that were on my to-do list. It's satisfying just to cross something off my list.

JS - You've inspired me to reconsider some of the things in my stash, as well. My storage space is pretty limited since my second child took over my craft room - I should really try to get rid of the overflow.  After all, I'll probably never use it all up. Cry I went through it all recently, one craft-type at a time, and I thought I had done a good job...until I took pictures yesterday and realized just how much I had left.

Lovely earwarmers, Jennie. That silk yarn it to die for. I had a couple balls of it and it was dreamy to work with.

CT - Your cards are so pretty! Your handwriting is gorgeous!

I haven't finished any of my WIPs yet. I'm working on a shawl from stash yarn, the pattern is "Lost in Time." It's a little over half done.

I have ten more WIPs to finish after this one. Tongue

On a somewhat related note, has anyone watched the Netflix show 'Tidying Up with Marie Kondo?' I've read her books and am in the middle of my tidying, but I was thinking she should do an episode with a serious crafter (maybe she has, I haven't watched the last couple episodes). I'd love to see a before and after of a craft space.

30  Re: 50 Projects 2018-Reach for Your Crafting and Creative Goals! in Craftalongs by tendstowardschaos on: December 23, 2018 04:25:19 PM
I am loving all of this holiday and charity crafting! Awesome work, ladies!

I didn't do a ton of Christmas crafting because a few of my projects were just huge. I customized a few canvas bags for Santa gifts by stenciling names on them. And a few chef's hats and an apron got names ironed on (I'd share if they weren't for the kiddos). This was the font I used, though, and one of the aprons I altered:

I went to a Wine and Canvas night, with the moms from my son's school, and made this:

But, the project that I'm most thrilled about is the portrait dolls for my nieces. The younger of the two girls was just mesmerized by the doll and asked me so many questions about the process that I was more than happy to answer for her.  Grin Their thread.
