1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My best projects of 2009! (img-heavy) on: December 22, 2009 02:28:05 PM
Hello craftsters!  Smiley I took a few months off (well, most of 2009, really) from craftstering, but I'm back now.  Thought I'd share some of my favorite projects I made this year.  Any comments appreciated!

Snow owl amigurumi (based off of http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=36360910)-

Robot hat (it looks weirdly misshapen here, but I promise it fits normal)-

Plastic bag/plarn totebag (it gets so many compliments when I bring it grocery shopping)-

A rainbow yarn bomb-

The story behind this one is that I put it up (in Burlington, VT) when Vermont legislature was trying to legalize gay marriage, and Governor Douglas was fixin' to veto the bill.  The heart-shaped tag on it says "Legalize Love".  Smiley

Striped neckwarmer/cowl-

Team Zissou hat (the stitching's a little hard to see, but those are Z's on there)-

And last but not least, a Dinosaur Scoodie for my friend! Similar to this one- https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=258603. Here she is wearing it and being a dinosaur:

Thanks for looking! Expect a xmas gifts post from me soon as well!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Dinosaur scoodie! Mittens! Kermit the frog! on: July 21, 2008 09:18:15 PM
I was recently part of the Jim Henson swap, and I ended up crocheting a few things for my partner, including a dinosaur hooded scarf/ scoodie:

..and a Kermit doll:

No, Kermit doesn't have any legs.  Yes, his arms and hands are completely bendable!  I was pretty happy with how he came out.

In non-swap-related news, I crocheted my first pair of mittens ever:

I used Malabrigo worsted wt. merino in "Mariposa".  These make me excited for winter.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Buzz buzzzzzzz on: June 09, 2008 05:29:53 PM
I made a bee hat!

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Birthday presents!! (Somewhat img chubbers.) on: June 04, 2008 05:11:14 PM
Today's my best friend's birthday!!! Here are a few of the things I made for her:

This fancy pink clutch/wristlet/purse thing.

...with a crocheted rose on the back.  The rose was made with DMC embroidery floss, the bag with Caron Simply soft.

Close-up of the rose.

A sleeve for her iBook!  Made with Lion brand thick 'n quick, for added computer cushioning.  The purple stripes were made from some furry yarn I picked up at a thrift store.

And finally...

An ear of blue/Indian corn!! Cheesy This probably seems like the most random gift ever, but she and I have had a long-running inside joke about giving each other corn.  She specifically asked for this!

I was going to stuff it with beans but my fabulous roommate had the brilliant idea of stuffing it with CORN KERNELS, thus giving it a new level of awesome.  I also made her a few iPod cosies and a beer cosy (in honor of it being her 21st).  Thank you for looking!!! Any comments are much appreciated.  Smiley
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Granny Squares Tank and Such! on: May 06, 2008 02:43:39 PM
Hi!  I recently made a tank top out of granny squares (no pattern was used):

It looks kind of boxy when laid out flat, but actually fits nicely:

Close-up (ignore the color change- it's just different lighting.):

Annnd then earlier today I was doing some organizing in my bedroom and felt that I needed a better way to store some of my favorite necklaces and pins... so I quickly made this up:

I like it!  Thank you for looking. Smiley
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My Doily Obsession (img heavy) on: April 28, 2008 03:18:17 AM
My first post!  Of course it's of doilies.  Last summer I got really into making them based on patterns in a thread crochet booklet I picked up somewhere.  I've made a lot more, but these are the only ones I've got pictures of.  Too bad.. I wish I could share photos of the doily bookmarks!

The very first doily I ever crocheted- note matching nail polish:

This one was really small, like coaster-sized:

Incomplete colorful (blurry) doily:

...And the finished product, in my friend's home:

Road trips are the perfect crochet time:

Thanks for looking!  Cheesy
