11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap 37 (8/01/01-8/31/08) on: August 09, 2008 08:33:48 AM
I claim parlophone for reusable grocery bags.

First claim, none sent, none received. I'm in the U.S. I like fun, bright colors, retro themes, nature themes, and reconstructed chic.

Crafted Items
laptop case - I kinda like this style, but I don't really care https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=248503.0 (something black and grape purple preferably, to match my laptop skin) - my laptop is roughly 14"x10.5"x1.5"

felt applique pillow like this http://www.pbteen.com/products/p3252/index.cfm?pkey=cgrlpac  -  I love the flower and the squirrel, maybe one of those or another 60's flower design or other animal like hedgehog or polar bear PM me for more ideas/colors

change purse woven out of candy or gum wrappers like this one - I really like the colors of the first one.

messenger bag like this https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=248503.0

crochet/knit headband in an earth tone

little makeup bag

decorated hair clips/bobby pins (growing my bangs back in) - not cutesy, please

natural looking jewelry - wood, hemp, etc. - casual and dressy casual (no earrings, please!)

really love a tye-dyed skirt, but not day-glo tye-dye, like a natural color(s). PM me for size. Fine with a thrifted/previously loved skirt, about knee-length.

pinking shears - used is fine
old t-shirts for a rug - warm purples
60's/70's ish quilting fabric
decorator fabric - 60's mod patterns or zebra (1 1/2 yds.)
vintage hardware (handle, legs, latch) - off a record tote or small suitcase

old Martha Stewart Living magazines

Any questions, just ask!
12  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Uhh... 400 unused Chinese takeout boxes ? on: July 28, 2008 10:19:36 AM
I saw a cute idea in a decorating book you could use. For an Asian themed room, they used a carryout box full of fortune cookie fortunes as a decoration. This would make a cute gift. You could write your own fortunes, quotes, words of encouragement, religious quotes, or whatever and give to a friend or family member for daily inspiration.

Maybe you should start an Asian-themed craft business and use the boxes as packaging. Or you could redecorate your room (or a friend's) in an Asian theme and use the boxes as paper lantern lights and storage. Or, better yet, throw an Asian-themed party. You can serve the food in boxes, use the boxes for favors, paper lanterns, decorations, etc.

13  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Starburst/Skittle Wrappers on: July 18, 2008 04:15:51 PM
I have a growing collection of Skittles and Starburst wrappers (favorite candies). I like the colors of the wrappers, and I know there's got to be something cute I can do with them, but I'm not super creative. Any ideas?

Wow! There really was a cute chair underneath the original ugly fabric. I love the two-tone color scheme you chose. Great job!

Great project (and funny pictures)! I really like the fabric choice. Maybe I shouldn't attempt that reupholstering project I was planning on...
