1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / hi from... randomplace on: April 21, 2008 02:25:39 PM
Hey. I'm new, and stuff. I've posted a bit already in the jewelry, dolls and toys and art forums. Nice to meet you.
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / insect brooches on: April 21, 2008 08:00:42 AM
I made a few brooches and pendants of insects ( https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=241364.0 ), and a friend of mine requested a ladybug brooch. I already had one, but I'm not satisfied with it at all.

How could I make the shiny back of a ladybug or of any kind of bugs from the coleoptera family in 3d?
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / the critter in my mind on: April 21, 2008 07:46:06 AM

Meet Meng Dao the Pangerra. He's a kind-hearted but pragmatic warrior, adoptive father of two, bodyguard of the cousin of the human emperor.

Digital art is fun!

first rule for making an object look cute: add eyes!

It looks really neat! I vote you try making more pastry-people... the world needs a ninja-croissant!
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / brooches and pendants yay! on: April 20, 2008 05:59:46 PM

The picture's not very good, sorry. Two wire-wrapped beach pebbles and a spider brooch, design inspired by something I saw on the internet

Cicada brooch! The abdomen is an actual pinecone!

Mantis! My favourite of them. One of the ladies in my poetry class ended up keeping it, but I loved it so much I made three more!

Dragonfly pendant! An older one, the original is also gone but I made a second version

The scorpion pendant, my very first "creepy crawly" pendant.

I've also made a beaded ladybug brooch and an ichneumon wasp brooch, but I haven't had time to take pictures.

Scary? Karyl? XD

The eyes are orange felt, I just embroided the pupil and upper eyelid.
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / the manicorn on: April 20, 2008 03:17:54 PM

designed on paintchat with a friend! It's hand-sewn, recycled fabric scraps with navy blue buttons for the eyes.
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: coin rings! i'm an addict!!! on: April 20, 2008 03:15:00 PM
has anyone attempted this with foreign coins? My aunt gave us a bag of those a while ago. I'm currently trying with a cuban centavos, which feels like it's made of aluminium.
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Copper wire used by electricians on: April 20, 2008 01:55:12 PM
I've also been wondering about this, since I've made a few pieces with leftover copper wire. Since there are copper beads and findings available in bead shops, I've always assumed they used a special varnish.
