i like these. what did you use to tie them?

just some hemp twine I had hanging out in my stash. I believe I picked it up from hobby lobby though. I purposely knotted it pretty randomly just because I liked the look of it.  Smiley
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / a couple new things. on: January 25, 2009 08:35:38 PM
Just a few pages I did this month... I've been having trouble scrapping lately, just don't have the mojo!
Which, funnily enough, both of these are for my design team work with Scrapmojo, lol:

I'm also working on this team diptych project, inspired by Art Slam:
with my friend Shaina. It's been really fun so far. We have a word for each day, for 30 days and can do whatever project we want for it. She's doing hers all on scrapblog, but I have been trying to mix it up (I get bored easy! ha.)
Here are the first four days:

Day One - Love

Day Two - Serious

(larger: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dani_johnston/3208370660/sizes/l/in/photostream/)

Day Three - Accept

Day Four - Dedicate

For the latest prompt at The Art Is Found: http://theartisfound.blogspot.com/, we had to make mobiles (lately, it seems like all the creating I've been able to do is for my design teams, but better than none!)....
I've been wanting to make these stick stars that I saw on A Foot Hill Home Companion: http://foothillhomecompanion.blogspot.com/2007/11/star-light-star-bright.html for awhile now so I whipped these up:

here's a close up of each star since they have their own little personalities:

you can see them larger here:
and here:

It was just a lot of tying and knotting. I loved adding in the bits of thread and beads here and there.
I really love how they turned out.... I'm excited to properly hang them after my husband and I get our own place!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Twilight Replica ::Bella's Mittens:: With Pattern on: January 25, 2009 07:46:53 PM
Ohhhh I'm so glad I picked up knitting again!
Does anyone have a guess as to what the skill level with these would be? I've just picked up learning knitting again. I did it for a bit in 2007 and did a couple very basic scarves but didn't do any more.

I would so love to make these - so so happy right now!

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / shapeing? flattening? or something? on: December 16, 2008 11:15:12 AM
I've been making some neck warmers lately, that button up the front.
I'm having a little problem with the ends curling up on me. I was wondering if there was a way to shape them so they lay flat?
I was wondering about ironing or wetting them a bit and letting them dry flat... something?

this is probably such a simple problem, but I can't seem to find anything anywhere about it and I don't want to mess up what I've already made!
