yes joanns has the clips in there sewing notions area they are called mitten or suspender clips  they normally have 2 in a package      but i have gotten mine off of suspenders i got from rummage sales and thrift stores where i can get 4 off of.

for making the duct tape pieces square i have actually used my cutting mat, rotory cutter and my guide and i got perfect pieces same size and with the brand of tape i was using sorry dont remember store brand the tape came off without to much of an issue

if you wanted to finish the seams. i normally sew the fleece and then i will cut the seamallowance closer with a regular scissors. you could using pinking shears as well

i can't find a zipper long enough... any suggestions?
you can buy zippers by the yard   i know some come with the zipper attachment already attached, or you can add one   check out joanns  you may need to check the regular sewing notions or the home decor notions area
