12  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Show Off Your Hair! on: March 12, 2009 09:25:48 AM
OK OK, so this is more of a personal thing. I'm a hair stylist, and I love love love all you ladies and your creativity! However, can we try to incorporate the term "color" instead of "dye" when it comes to coloring your hair? I had a teacher in school who used to always say "you dye clothes! you color your hair!"

Anyways, I've always said that there is nothing better than DIY hair...and you ladies totally proved that point to the max. Great job everyone!!
13  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Turning 25? Have a gore birthday fest!! on: March 12, 2009 09:15:00 AM
Last month I finally entered the dreaded mid 20's. Seeing as how I have a huge affinity for anything gore related, I decided to have a gore themed birthday party. Now, finding special effects makeup at the beginning of Feb was no easy feat, but I found a few items and made a lasting impression at my own party.

A busted nose, bruised head, bruised lip and a slashed arm.

The shock and gasps when I entered the room were enough of a birthday present Smiley

15  COOKING / Dessert / Re: first try at fondant... no laughing!! on: March 12, 2009 09:01:44 AM
My first try with fondant was a huge let down, I couldn't even use the stuff I was so disappointed. This looks like a pretty good first time to me! Keep with it!
16  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Make Your Own Vanilla Extract on: March 12, 2009 08:59:15 AM
hm...I'm really interested in how this turns out! I'm wondering if you use a higher quality of vodka if it would make a difference in flavor....or if you used vanilla vodka if the flavor would be intensified.

I'm going to have to try this once I see your results! Smiley

19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: first project: Argyle Academy embrodiery. on: June 05, 2008 01:33:29 AM
I love this! very inspiring. One question; how did you transfer the design on the fabric. oops, another question: what fabric did you use?

I blew up the image in photoshop, used some transfer paper for the major parts of the piece and used an $0.89 piece of cotton from Hobby Lobby.

Thanks guys Smiley

Taken from the ever so talented Mike Lowery over at http://www.argyleacademy.com I took on a big first project. Came out pretty well I'd say so myself.
