1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: First Handspun Yarn! on: January 13, 2012 03:14:19 PM
Yay for new spinners!!! Great job! Your first ply is way better than mine. I still stink at plying. I make a lot of singles.

Kaz-get to spinnin'! U will love it!

Love them! Great job. Still have to fix my wheel. Grr. Good news though, for my crafty addiction, I'll be getting some built in storage. Yay! More room for fibers goods! Wink
3  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: The Fiber Swap (Sign-up: Oct. 1 to 17; Send by: Nov. 21) on: October 02, 2011 03:59:14 PM
Ugh, I'm too broke to swap but thought I'd chime in that this kind of swap is a great one for beginning spinners. We have actually had fiber only type swaps, I've organized more than one. They are always super awesome and we've had plenty of new spinners get started in them. They are a fantastic place to learn from more experienced spinners for sure.  Here is a gallery link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=321679.0 to the Low Stress Fiber Swap from last year.

I look forward to seeing the goods!

And MizzKodak, I responded to you. I hope you can understand my gibberish. lol I'm not much of a teacher but I did figure out how to spin and with patience and practice, practice, so will you! We have tons of knowledgeable spinners here at Craftster! They taught me most everything I know. Them and YouTube. Wink

@nikschaf He's a pretty hyper kid. I was at least impressed at his genuine interest in the entire wheel. He was very fascinated with it.

Lovely yarns! I've missed Craftser. I've had a lot of craziness going on and haven't been on or spun anything lately. My wheel is messed up right now. I had a 10 year old cousin come over and decide that my wheel was something he needed to spin as fast and chaotically as possible. His mom didn't stop him and put me in this weird situation of wresting the wheel away. After he left I noticed the nylon thread had snapped. We just moved into a new house so I haven't gotten a new one. Boo! I've enjoyed looking at all of your yarns though! Smiley Good stuff. Hope you're all well!
