Small Tie dye Tote (1/2 pt)
Small tote bag made from a tie-dyed shirt I found at the dollar store. It needed to be a bag! Has lots of decorative stitching, several buttons from my coveted collection. The bag is super psychedelic and the inside has a fab Astrology print. The bright green decorative stitching is glow in the dark. Perfect size for a lunch or a planner and some other small items. 9.5" x 9.5". Freshly made!

Black w/ red fleece, sewn with decorative curvy stitch and embellished with vintage buttons. Super soft on the inside and can be adjusted to your measurements. Will Velcro closed.

Close up of all gift tag patterns.

Welcome Baby Garland (1/2 pt)
Pink/Cream circles sewn onto twine, perfect accent for a Welcome Home Baby party! Circles are reversible. Would be cute with a name embroidered across or decorated with buttons. My original idea was to put a package of baby item shaped buttons on it. Roughly 6 and 1/2 feet long.

Felt Hair Clips (1/2 pt)
Hair clips with butterfly, flower and cupcake felt cut outs. Hot glued to metal clips. Pick 5 clips.

23  Re: Low Stress Fiber Swap Round 1 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by SewMamaLady on: September 05, 2009 04:43:24 PM

This is what I use. It's small, I can do probably 4-5 ounces at the most but that'd be pushing it. I really like steaming on the stovetop if I have time. Using the microwave certainly is easier, but the colors can come out so cool with the steamer. Especially if you sprinkle some dry powder on your fiber before you seal it up.

25  Re: 7/16/08 - New ads being shown on Craftster in Latest News by SewMamaLady on: August 24, 2009 10:31:54 AM
Um yes, that's why I came to this thread actually. My stepmom and uncle have both been diagnosed with cancer in the last year. My stepmom, most recently. The last thing I want blasted in my face is gigantic, obnoxious cancer center ads. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but it's actually becoming painful everytime I come on to my favorite website in the world!

They do actually mess up though. The drop down menu is behind the ad.

Minimum Requirements:

3 oz. fiber of your choice
1 small spinning/fiber art related hand crafted item

Ideas for items: something made from handspun yarns, a drop spindle, handmade tools for spinning on wheels or plying, a diz, a PVC niddy noddy, trinkets for plying, put together by hand plying & spinning goody bags, hand dyed/carded fiber (fiber must be manipulated/dyed by you to count as a crafted item), clever containers for fiber or yarn, fiber arts lap towels and blankets, collections of natural dye stuffs, or more fiber! The possibilities are endless.

Please be aware that in this swap we will be expecting:
- Weekly check-ins within the discussion thread, just so we know everyone is having a nice time and is still around. Check in with your partner at least....
- Good communication between partners and organizers. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or for help. We would rather know there are issues than wonder what is going on with swappers.

Thought I'd share my first bit of knitting. I used some neat chunky Italian yarn for it. Going to sew some binding on one side, put some buttonholes and buttons on it and make arm cuffs. Maybe some lace. I know it's silly but my wrists get cold. I seem be be less and less immune to cold every year now. So these will be good to put on after gloves and a long sleeve shirt. Nice and warm and stretchy!

I've been meaning to post this for quite some time, but I've just had all kinds of crazy things happen and forgot.

TwiztidBlood sent me a thank you package for some extras I sent her in a STS claim. She was so sweet! She sent me several ounces of Upper Canadian Village roving in red and some of her fabulous handspun yarn!

What's even better is that I'd just dyed some roving in similar colorway to the yarn. So I'm saving it up until I spin that piece to make something really great!

So thanks Twiz for the package that I'm still holding onto because it's so beautiful. lol It's being coveted.  Grin Cheesy
