1  Re: International Interests-- Glorious Global Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by tickle-me-emo on: September 03, 2009 02:12:44 PM
Hi guys!

Apologies for not posting my awesome swap package sooner as you can see i got a bit c carried away with eating parts of it .....

Amerigirl spoiled me, with tonnes of chocolates, some beautiful hawaiian crisps tea.

Tonnes of postcards, stickers and some adorable handmade notebooks with pens! perfect for me as i am always forgetting everything (as she well knows i have another little package heading out with candy in it for her!!)

i got some neat seeds and sharpies (they are just coming out over here but are super expensive!)

The prettiest handmade earrings - red white and blue - as she rightfully said both countries colours so i don't feel too much like i am betraying my homeland when i wear them!!

The most fantastic ornaments ofr my chrsitmas decoration collection!
2 number plate stars! Aren't they just the coolest? They certainly shine (in the photo it actually creeped me out a bit!! )

Thanks amerigirl!

Firstly apologies to greenfaerie! She sent me such awesome bookmarks and i haven't done them justice becasue i have posted pictures yet, i'm very sorry!

Here they all are crammed into the book i'm reading at the moment (i got a bit carried away in my excitement!)

I got an awesome southern kitsch bookmark! with little piggys on! i cannot believe you have a store called piggly wiggley  Cheesy

A route 66 one to represent my love of all things americana! I am very jealous of your trip btw greenfaerief  Smiley

I loved the coney island one - greenfaerie left the back in scrunchy vellum so that i could add my own pictures of my trip! its going to make a great memento - thank you. I think the idea of doing it in a representational style is awesome and the little metal coney on the bottom is adorable; This is how greenfaerie described it and i think it is much more eloquent than my excited babble! ; Stylized take on Coney Island marker:  Since I love Coney, but never have been there, I actually did this in a representational art style.  The yellow reminds me of the lights, the stitching both the rails of the coasters and the stitching on some of the proud freaks who perform there.  I put a sheet of puckered vellum on the back with the intention that you could glue a panoramic crop of your trip or even 3 small pictures to the back.  The metal "Coney" part I formed myself out of wire

and finally this cute little bookcorner which i think is my favourite - its a style that my partner used in alot of her wedding stuff and its beautiful your wedding must have been pretty as a picture, i'm honoured to be the first person you've used the style on since your wedding!

Thank you again greenfaerie!

and p.s i am loving the gallery everyone did such awesome jobs!

8  Pretty darn cool candlestick rotary phone!! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by tickle-me-emo on: May 07, 2006 01:58:12 PM
I am so happy with this! after finding this gem for 1 ! (  Shocked Shocked) i was ecstatic and had a quick search on hear for ideas and low and behold there was the dotty red rotary phone! so i got to work!

Before: it was a horrid colour the picture does it justice it really wasn't as nice as that looks! and it had smoke stains all over it  Lips sealed

So me and dad started to take apart the phone so that we could  spray all the seperate pieces its pretty simple as long as you remember where everything goes! and yr good with a screwdriver  and wires!

then we got some really cheap spray for 2.99 in postbox red!
after a couple of coats and a lot of tedious time spent putting it back together we got this!!!  :

 Grin Grin Grin

=D what do you guys think? nothing to ambitious but i love it =] and hopefully my freind will as its her bday present!!
