How about using the clear cello bags with a decorative topper for the dry goods and spices.  Just pour it all into the bag, fold the top down and staple on the topper (topper sort of like the generic 2/$1 candy at the convenience stores).  On the front you can type Santa Soup and on the back easy directions to follow.

As to the fresh veggies, how about making it reindeer food and wrapping up large stalks of celery and carrots with ribbons and maybe a sleigh bell and placing it in the fridge.  Make sure you write that into the recipe.

Great ideas Smiley

Just a few questions about the tissue paper candles. May I ask how I would print on tissue paper?  Do I tape the tissue paper onto regular computer paper and print on that?  Also can you burn those candles?

Love, love this idea!  My sister buys iced coffee every day.  Along with the coffee she buys a foam cup to place her cup inside of.. yes the charge her for the additional cup.  This would be the perfect gift for her!

What type of crafts do you like to do?  I will try to post an idea for each friend... my husband sounds like all of your friends so I can give you ideas based on things I have made and he actually likes.

BF1: Transform a Bic pen into a sword.  I printed out a pic of his RPG game sword and made it out of Fimo clay wrapped around the empty barrel of the pen.

BF2: Transfer Tshirt.  Scan and enlarge a clip from a comic book or a pic of you as a Scream Queen Smiley and iron on transfer it to a tshirt.

Friend 3:  I immediately thought of the guitar pic necklace that you posted in F4.  What kind of music does he like.. does he play?  You could wood burn his name or nickname into drumsticks..  a music sheet journal if he writes..

Friend 4: Zelda Perler bead coasters.  I know you said you wanted to stay away from Terminator.. but it would be funny to make him a sign he can hang on his door that says "I'll be back" or even print that on the back of a tshirt.

Can you think of ways to jazz up store bought candles?  I have 3 ideas already:

Cinnamon Sticks wrapped around a small pillar candle

Removing the wrapper from a jar candle and hand painting or etching the jar (not quite sure if the etching stuff is okay with heat??)  I think a snowman face will look so nice against a white candle.

Gluing votives or votive holders onto precut wooden snowflake ornaments.. decorate ornament with glitter or paint.

Any ideas to decorate candles... of any kind.. tapers, pillars, etc?

I made a Movie Nights basket for my sister.

Retro Style Popcorn maker,
corn kernels (of course),
Large boxed theater candies.. Jujus, Mike and Ike, etc
2 DVDs
$ store actually had cream bowls that said POPCORN on them,

I used a large red mixing bowl as the basket and for filler I pulled all the tape out of an old VHS and stuffed it around the items.  It looks great!

I have made a few of the FamilyFun ones.  They are super easy if you use felt and make the stiches on the outside.

Neat idea.. it is sort of like a really long wine sack.  It would be really easy to make.. just straight cuts and straight sewing.

Pasta salads
Raw veggies tossed in Italian Dressing or with a side dip.. a bag of plain or Frito chips go good with the dip too.
Fresh fruit with yogurt for dipping.. add a bag of whole wheat pretzel twists
