4461  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Re: Dolly Donations...comforting orphans in Haiti on: September 07, 2010 02:44:14 PM
Oh my goodness! Those are just too adorable! Thank you for helping with such a wonderful cause.

Thanks Pam! I kind of feel guilty for how much fun this was to do!

Wish I had time to do more. Hopefully they will do it again later on.

Me too! I sure hope so!  Smiley I saw your dolls on your blog! Wicked cute~
4462  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Halloween House#2 Painted or not? (Image heavy) on: September 07, 2010 02:35:29 PM
This is incredible! If it were painted...a little would go a long way... I'd just add accents if any. It looks super creepy as is!  Smiley
4463  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / The Simpsons ...a picture fat sculpted Nativity by isewcute on: September 07, 2010 02:34:05 PM
I'm finally getting around to giving these guys their own post here. These were made in the FOC Wist Swap for my partner Pixieval. The swap was all about crafting something from or inspired by your partner's wists & Pixieval had written in her craftster profile that she would love to have someone craft her a Simpson's Nativity. Inspiration struck & I just had to make it for her!
I could just imagine it even before picking up the materials.
These were sculpted from super sculpey & have tightly crumpled aluminum foil in their middles to make them a little lighter & take less time to bake.
The figures measure around 6-7" tall I think it was...for the adults ...and the kiddos were about 3.5" tall or so.

I made Maggie the baby Jesus because she is the baby of the family & I felt it would've just been kind of wrong (but funny) if Bart were the baby. I'd love to expand on this set & add Krusty, Moe, & a few others as misc. wise men & shepherds.  Cheesy
Here's Bart in progress...before baking:

Behind the scenes...my 5 year old helping with Marge's hair...I forgot about this photo!

The family before painting the colors:

A different view after painting & glittering:

Homer detail:

The family without the distracting background...you can see Santaslittlehelper better against the white background...I just love how he came out!

Top view to show Maggie better:

My husband said, "how come you never make anything like this for me?" ...and he rarely expresses any interest in my crafting...so I took it as a major compliment.  Wink

4467  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: Anyone have any family/friends/SOs who complain about their swapping? on: September 06, 2010 07:56:27 AM
My hubby doesn't usually complain about my swapping, because the stuff I make usually isn't dude friendly... but when I did the Simpsons Nativity for the FOC wist swap, he said how come you never make anything like this for me?
I got a kick out of that! Guess what I have to make him for christmas this year?

4468  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Anyone up for another tea towel tour? on: September 06, 2010 07:50:56 AM
I've never organized a swap before, but I would definitely be interested in taking part in another tea towel tour. Anyone game?
