1  So I just started to understand how to sew *image heavy!!* in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by lala leti on: September 03, 2008 08:05:20 PM
Still a totally newbie at this sewing thing, but I LOVE it.
I made a few things for my nieces

I have been dying to make these things but feared I might lose and eye like the last attempt... I forgot to adjust the needle for the foot and it came flying at my eyeball.. good thing I wear glasses  Grin I can't remember the tutorial but I used it for the brown and turquoise fob.

Thanks for looking!!!!

2  My very first clothing project. 90's prom fabulousness in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by lala leti on: June 26, 2008 01:32:14 PM
So four of my close girlfriends and I decided we wanted to throw a party and give it a theme. We were brainstorming on names and themes and decided we wanted a prom. Everyone is over the age of 25 and decided it wasn't too late to make new memories of prom for those who had an awful time the 1st time around.

So we bumped heads on the type of prom and the name. We each decided that the name was going to be "Golden Showers" after a night of drinking and conversation about R. Kelly. Now I knowwww it sounds gross but we did a spin on it and explained it like "gold is raining from the sky" *dramatic hand gestures ensue*

We seriously took lots of time and effort decorating and setting things up. We had a total blast. Gold lights everywhere. A friend of ours is a DJ and he provided the music and a photographer friend of ours as well showed up with all his gear and provided the pictures.

We each had a theme to our dresses. I did late 80's/early 90's with the big hair and big dress. Being gloriously chunky and all I had to make my own dress. Quite the task for a total novice.

Without further adieu

I had a broken wrist and had NEVER done anything like this before. I just barely understand the construction of zippered pouches.

It looks a little crooked because of the way I was leaning but it was perfect. I could have taken some time to press it so you don't see the crease, but I was a total procrastinator and pieced everything together hours before the party started.
(just in case you missed it, I am the fabulous chunky gal with the big hair)
Comments and criticism welcome!

3  My new love.... making coin purses! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by lala leti on: April 29, 2008 02:16:22 PM
So I am a total noob in so many aspects of crafting. I have never had any real practice with a sewing machine until recently and so far this is the 4th thing I have made! I apparently also have a fetish with painting buttons. I did it again for this one!

There are some kinks I have to work out and I have to get used to stitching zippers on these things. However I am super proud of this!
Comments and suggestions more than welcome! Thanks for looking!!

4  Finished project... thanks for the idea and tute tamdoll!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by lala leti on: April 23, 2008 12:28:29 AM
So I browse this place EVERYDAY looking for new, easy to do, tutorials because... well... I suck at sewing and I have only used the machine seriously once since I got it.

I saw the business card holder tute and decided I would take a stab at it and give it a twist.
The seams are crooked... I know. This is the 2nd time I have made something so any type of criticism is good!

I made this with the "i keep all my crap in my bra when I go out" mentality. I hate carrying a purse with me when I go out and this way I have something cute to pull outa my bra Grin It holds my cash D.L. and credit card.
the outside! ... i painted the button to match the ribbon Grin

the inside...

thanks for lookin!
