16  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Vintage Sewing Machine Tattoo on: September 06, 2010 03:45:14 PM
I've really been wanting a tattoo for years...never knowing what to quite get. One day it came to me that I should get a sewing machine...so I found an amazing tattoo artist and starting discussing my tattoo. I knew it would be my first piece and I thought that if I got a tattoo I wanted to go all out and get a large piece. Yes it is addicting and I do plan to do a half sleeve of all sewing related things! It took 5 hours and man was it painful! haha! Smiley

17  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Powerful Polka Dot on: August 10, 2010 06:50:23 PM
I have a magazine with a polkadot quilt on it ... was about to start it tonight, but, like you it will be my first applique.  EVER.  How easy did you find it?  Any tips or advice for a newbie?

And ... yours IS better than the magazine.  Great job! Smiley

Thanks! I had done a few little applique practice pieces first to make sure I had the technique down. I found that the circles where sorta hard to applique around but once you did a couple it came rather easy. I kinda made my own templates out of cardboard to help cut out the circles. Let me know how yours turns out!
