1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I Love Goldfishes 'Cause They're So Delicious!!! Dress. on: August 11, 2008 08:59:58 PM
Time to go fishin'!  Alright, so they other day at JoAnn's my mother and I were hanging out with the pattern catalogs when my lovely mother noticed the sales sign said that Butterick patterns were 99 cents each.  Oh, Christ on a cracker, it was on.  We got 10 (TEN!!) patterns. (1 umbrella, 3 aprons, 1 dog-themed, 1 swimsuit, and 4 dresses if I remember correctly)  Then we were roaming the fabrics, looking for stuff to make when I happened on goldfish (GOLDFISH) fabric and it's destiny was clear.  I definitely needed an a-line goldfish-themed dress for the new school semester and it was done just in time for being able to see my fiance on our 2.5 year anniversary.  And here it is -
Here, it's not hemmed and the straps aren't attached but it's the best full photo of it.

After the straps (regular orange ribbon) are attached, a closer view of the bust.

Completely hemmed with some (unmatching, in my opinion) flipflops, my zebra bag and Hank with his E collar (he just got fixed last week)

And Mommy Dearest decided to photograph me mid-make (She's so proud lol)

And my first ever dart

The back sewn together pre-zipper

This, by the way, is my first ever "from scratch" anything and I'm amazingly proud of it.  I have some music note fabric and cherry fabric that I officially know /just/ what they'll be used for.  I can't wait to make more of these!! Any comments are SUPER appreciated. (Yes, SUPER.)

Love, Kris. <3

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / More Bracelets = More pictures!!! on: July 20, 2008 11:00:32 AM
Hey, first time on the jewelry board so play nice  Wink  There was a sale at Hobby Lobby the other day on plain wooden bangles so I snatched up a few to paint.

The first is plain dark green with lighter green vine/leaves/ivy/something -

Blurry counter shot

Action shot

(I just realized that my wrist looks broken in this picture...)

Bracelet #2 Not for sale, purely my own <3 It's a stretch bracelet with 7 wooden panels.
Panel 1 - Hot pink base with "fancy" 'K'

Panel 2 - White Base with black zebra stripes

Panel 3 - Black base with hot pink heart

(There's this one spot in the heart that looks like the paint's too thin.  I've done several coats - drying in between - and that spot just won't go away.  Any suggestions are known causes??)
Panel 4 - White base with Pomeranian silhouette and lime green "HANK" for my puppy

I have no idea why a digital camera looks like it double exposed...

Panel 5 - Black base with lime green Runic 'J' (This is what a 'J' looks like in Runes, by the way.  For my fiance, Jeff.  Not that he'll know what it is but it'll make me think of him when I wear it)

Panel 6 - White base with princess crown.  Cuz I'm a muthafluffin' princess!

Way blurry... Sorry

Panel 7 - Black base
* I don't know exactly what to do with this panel but I'll think of something...*

And comments, suggestions, criticism greatly appreciated <3
P.S. Sorry for the peanut butter...  And the blur.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Oh My God! A Talking Muffin!!!!!!! And then some... on: July 19, 2008 05:49:59 PM
Surely you all know the joke about the talking muffin.  I grabbed this shirt a couple days ago for the color and the first thing that popped into my head was 'OMG A talking Muffin!'   Thy will be done and we get this --

Detail of the muffins.  One is fainted ^_^

And a very happy Kris

Yellow of the rainbow Ts -Detail front

"Conventionality is the refuge of a stagnant mind."

Detail back/side

Whole thing hanger shot

And the purple one - made at/for Disney World.  The wand looks like it's 'touching' the heart when worn.  ((I know the edges are curling, it's a crappy iron-on and it didn't like being cleaned so I need to sew it down.))

Back - "Every Girl's Dream Is Happily Ever After."

I'm super happy with my muffin shirt and will be wearing it often ^_^ Any comments are highly appreciated <3

-P.s. All are acrylic paint on craft store shirts and one crappy iron-on - nothing special.
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Pin-Up Calender on: June 25, 2008 10:10:58 PM
I'm making a pin-up calender this Christmas for my fiance and I'm quite stuck on ideas for some of the months.  I have suggestions for most but I'd love to hear any from anyone on here.  My biggest challenge so far is May.  Remember, I will not be nude in any of the pictures but anything up until that is open.  I'm not shy at all so ANY suggestion is GREATLY appreciated.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Plaid Recon - Shorts to Skirt on: June 24, 2008 02:56:52 PM
At Wal-Mart the other day, I found these adorable plaid shorts.
They only had one size left (too big) and according to a certain person, I have enough "lesbian shorts" and I need to be more girly so I made them into a skirt.  I don't have progress pictures but it was like...4 steps.  So here I am in my new skirt!

Stretch (with my Pom, Hank)

Action (I love those heels <3)

P.S. Ignore the shirt, I pulled it out of the laundry because I have nothing to match the skirt yet and I'm not taking pictures in my bra.
Comments are greatly appreciated  Grin
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / MayDay Recon on: May 19, 2008 01:19:33 PM
MayDay (huge Indy concert) is coming up in less than a week and I've just finished one of three recon T's for me and two girlfriends.  Here's the first (mine since I was available to measure, mark, and fit on such short notice).  Men's medium plain red shirt, acrylic "fabric paint" from the dollar store (god knows if it'll stay after the concert so we're not risking washing it and the chalk can just stay right where it is), some sewing, cutting, tucking, pinning, finger pricking, exacto-ing and ribbon.  The sewing was my second ever attempt (after the requisite pillow filled with fabric scrap for my Pom puppy) and I honestly guessed the whole time.
On the hanger that wouldn't hold it so it had to be tied

I know you can't see it very well but here's some blurry action shots

Side with corset detail and very loud and stiff ribbon

Here's the detail of the front image, lips with vampire teeth, a lip ring and a "monroe" piercing.

Thanks for looking, comments/criticism welcome ^_^
